Bel-Air season 4 will be the last time that they get to see the escapades of Will and the Banks family.

Following the conclusion of Bel-Air season 3, it was unclear if the show would get a fourth season or whether it would be canceled due to Peacock’s budget restraints. Fortunately, an announcement was made that the show would have a fourth season, which will have eight episodes. Seeing as Bel-Air’s highest-rated episodes came from the show's third season, it's good news that season 4 will not only expand on the storylines that were introduced in season 3 but will also give the show a chance to wrap up.

Bel-Air Ending With Season 4 Gives The Show Time To Wrap Up The Story

There Are Several Storylines That Bel-Air Season 4 Needs To Complete

Although it's sad that Bel-Air will be ending with season 4 especially after season 3’s success, the show at least has a chance to tie up any loose ends. Bel-Air season 3 ended on a cliffhanger with several characters’ storylines left incomplete. In the final scenes of the third season, Will is kidnapped by of Geoffrey's old gang, with his fate left unknown. Bel-Air season 3 also set up Aunt Viv’s storyline for the fourth season since she found out she was pregnant.

The fourth season of Bel-Air has an opportunity to create one of Will Smith's saddest scenes from the 1990 sitcom, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

During her honeymoon with Lamarcus, Hilary's husband ed out, and it's unclear whether he is alive or not. Another storyline that isn't finished involves Carlton. In the finale of Bel-Air season 3, Carlton's girlfriend, Amira, decided to go to a rehab center that specializes in drug addiction that is caused by grief. With all of these plot points still on the table, it's good news that Bel-Air will have a final season instead of just being canceled as is the norm with TV shows these days, as the show has an opportunity to give each character a fitting ending.

How Bel-Air Season 4 Should End (Based On What Happens In Fresh Prince)

Bel-Air Season 4 Can End On A Different Note

While Bel-Air is a reboot and has borrowed several plotlines from The Fresh Prince, it hasn't directly copied from the original show. In The Fresh Prince’s season finale, Carlton went off to study at Princeton, Hilary and Ashley moved to New York, Aunt Viv, Uncle Phil, and Nicky moved to Boston, and Will remained in LA so he could attend college. It's obviously not going to be possible for Bel-Air season 4 to use all the story arcs from The Fresh Prince, but that doesn't mean it cannot be inspired by the sitcom.

The Fresh Prince gave its characters a proper send-off, and the same could be true for the reboot. However, given that they are completely different shows, Bel-Air could go in another direction. After Aunt Viv’s pregnancy announcement, her marriage with Uncle Phil might be strained and Bel-Air season 4 can explore how the couple will deal with that and having a new addition to the family. Hilary’s story arc in season 3 ended on a sad note, and season 4 can highlight how she will handle her grief and whether she will end up with Jazz after she heals.

Bel-Air season 4 could use that storyline, but differentiate itself by showing how far Will has come since leaving Philadelphia and also having Lou be a big part of his life.

Carlton is also dealing with his own heartbreak after Amira left, so before he goes to college, he needs to learn how to control his emotions while simultaneously being in charge of a successful business. Ashley also has an opportunity to figure out what she wants in the season. In Fresh Prince, Will had a difficult time coming to with having achieved less than his cousins. Bel-Air season 4 could use that storyline, but differentiate itself by showing how far Will has come since leaving Philadelphia and also having Lou be a big part of his life.
