best hand-to-hand fights in anime. Eren discovers that he can become a Titan himself fairly early in the series, giving him the strength to take on his opponents on a titanic scale.
Whether Eren's in his Titan form or in his normal human form, he's willing to throw down with anybody. He's always willing to fight if it means defending his friends, and towards the end of the series, Eren will use any means to achieve his victory.
10 Eren's First Transformation
Eren Was The Titan His Friends Needed
Eren's first transformation was climactic. His friends were trapped atop a building with Titans surrounding them. Ammo was low and so were their hopes. When Armin was captured by a Titan, Eren lost it. He dove after his long-time friend and traded places with him, sacrificing his life so that Armin might live. Instead of dying, however, Eren discovered a new power. He transformed into a Titan in another Titan's stomach, killing the first Titan and setting Eren on a rampage.

10 Best Attack On Titan Characters who Deserve Their Own Spinoff
Attack on Titan is a massive series with incredible set-pieces, amazing fights, and amazing side characters who deserve their own spinoffs
It was exactly what his friends needed to get out of their situation. Eren dominated the rest of the Pure Titans, giving his fellow Scouts time to recuperate, refuel, and live to fight another day. While it doesn't have the same finesse as some of Eren's later fights, Eren's first transformation into his Titan form was one of the most shocking moments in anime when it was first animated.
9 Eren Uses The Founding Titan
He Avenged His Mother's Death
The death of Eren's mother was one of the most heartbreaking scenes in Attack on Titan, and it happened in the first episode. The Colossal Titan and the Armored Titan appear, destroying the walls protecting his home and leading Titans into his village. His mother gets trapped by rubble and is eventually killed by the Smiling Pure Titan. In another shocking twist, the Smiling Titan who eats Eren's mom is none other than Dina Fritz, his dad's first wife.
When Eren found the Smiling Titan again, he was furious. He tried everything he could to defeat it but didn't have the power until he punched the Titan in his human form. Letting out a scream, Eren summoned all the surrounding Pure Titans to his side, commanding them to defeat the Smiling Titan. It's Eren's best fight where he himself fights the least, but the use of the Founding Titan's powers was impressive.
8 Eren and Armin vs. Bertholdt
Armin Became the New Colossal Titan
Eren and Armin's fight against the Colossal Titan was brutal. They had to sacrifice everything to get to Bertholdt. The Colossal Titan is one of the strongest of all Attack on Titan's nine Titan types. He has both the ability to become massive, multiple times larger than any other Titan. He also has the ability to shoot scorching streams of heat directly from his body, melting anything that comes close to him. When Armin and Eren decide to kill the traitor Bertholdt, they come up with a vicious plan.
Armin sacrificed himself to get Bertholdt's attention, while Eren sacrificed his Titan form temporarily. Armin ended up dying from the heat exposure set off by Bertholdt. Eren was able to kill the Colossal Titan and capture Bertholdt, later feeding him to Armin and bringing his best friend back to life.
7 Eren and Zeke vs. Reiner, Porco, and Pieck
Eren's Hand-To-Hand Combat is on Another Level
While Reiner has done some very immoral things as a man, he's an incredible fighter in his Titan form. His ability to use legitimate wrestling moves coupled with his superhuman shell make him an incredible threat for Eren. When the Marleyan Military invaded Paradis, it was war. Eren fought multiple Titans at once and did very well for himself, utilizing his hardening abilities to break through Reiner's armor. He fought Reiner and Porco at the same time, using his new War Hammer abilities to defend himself.
The Cart Titan was a difficult opponent as well. Pieck used her Titan abilities expertly to deceive her enemies before creating a crucial opening. The fight ends with Eren being reunited with Zeke. They were able to touch hands, allowing Eren to start The Rumbling and begin the end of the world.
6 Eren vs. Jean
He Doesn't Need To Be a Titan To Throw Hands
One of Eren's best fights in Attack on Titan is in his human form. He gets into a good old-fashioned bar fight with his fellow scout Jean. Jean eggs Eren on by talking about how useless people who dive right into battle are, implying Eren is too pig-headed to be a good Scout. Eren responds by calling Jean a coward, leading to a full-blown brawl. Eren throws the first punch and hits Jean squarely in the midsection. Jean responds with his own powerful left hook to Eren's midsection.
Both fighters become exhausted by the end of their bouts. They wonder why nobody has come to stop them when Captain Levi comes and does just that. He punches one and kicks the other, effectively winning a fight he was never part of. It's a funny moment that highlights both how close the Scouts are to each other and just how strong Levi really is in Attack on Titan.
5 The Battle of Heaven and Earth
Eren vs. Everybody
The Battle of Heaven and Earth is one of the most bittersweet moments in anime. It's an exhilarating battle filled with Titans from the past and present, all fighting for the future they believe in. It's an incredibly sad fight because Eren is facing his friends. He's trying to destroy the entire world and wants to be the bad guy the blame can be placed upon. In order for that to happen, he needs to be killed. He transforms into his massive Founding Titan form and let's loose on Fort Salta.
With his Colossal Titans in tow, Eren marches forward. It's only thanks to Mikasa, Armin, Reiner, and more that Eren is eventually brought to his end. Eren decided to shoulder as much of the world's anger and hatred as he could, leading to his moment. Mikasa finally decapitates Eren, saving him from himself.
4 Saving Mikasa
He's Been Vicious Since He Was a Child
Mikasa Ackerman comes from the Azumabito family in Hizuru, making her and her family the only Asians inside the Walls. When human traffickers come by to kidnap and sell them, they kill both of Mikasa's parents. Eren sees the situation from outside the house and ambushes the attackers. He ties a knife to a broomstick and uses it as a spear, impaling the first kidnapper impressively. He then uses the knife to stab the man to death.
Eren is just 9-years-old at this point in the series and is already wildly vicious. When he can't finish off the third attacker, he tells Mikasa to do it. She summons all of her courage and stabs the last kidnapper through his heart from the back, cementing her position as another one of the most lethal characters in Attack on Titan.
3 Eren vs. Annie (Second Person)
The Attack Titan vs. The Female Titan Is Better the Second Time
Annie is one of the smartest and darkest characters in Attack on Titan. She doesn't just rely on her size as a Titan when she fights. She uses real martial arts to take down her opponents, making her a considerable threat for the scouts. When Eren first fights Annie in her Female Titan form, he's woefully unprepared. She wipes the floor with him and doesn't have to put up much a fight to do so. In their second fight, however, Eren learned from his mistakes.

Attack On Titan's Most Forgotten Romance Is Also Its Most Groundbreaking
The romance that blossoms between Historia and Ymir is one of Attack On Titan's best, but the reasons it's so important are often overlooked by fans.
He was much more vicious in their second bout, ripping Annie's limbs off her body when he got the chance. If it wasn't for her willingness to go into a four-year coma, he would've been able to eat her too. It was the last time Annie was shown for a long time in Attack on Titan, and the Female Titan went out with a bang.
2 Eren vs. Reiner (First Fight)
Eren Was Able to Judo Toss the Armored Titan
Reiner and Bertholdt are two of the most despicable traitors in anime. They killed tens of thousands of innocent people as the Armored and Colossal Titans. In their human forms, they deceived everyone around them in the Scouts as well. When Reiner couldn't take the lies anymore, he itted to being the Titans that started this whole thing. Everyone immediately transformed into their Titan forms, with Eren heading straight at Reiner.
Eren landing an armbar on the Armored Titan is still one of the coolest moments of the series
Eren had a couple of chances to fight in his Titan form up until this point in the series. He also knew just how strong Reiner was, so he took it seriously. Eren used a combination of Judo, Jiu Jitsu, and Boxing to take Reiner down. Eren landing an armbar on the Armored Titan is still one of the coolest moments of the series.
1 Eren vs. The War Hammer Titan and The Jaw Titan
Eren's Most Vicious Moves in Attack on Titan
Eren's best fight in Attack on Titan is a savage two-versus-one against the Jaw Titan and the War Hammer Titan. Eren has just invaded Marley and is about to repay them for destroying his home. In the middle of an anti-Paradis speech, Eren transforms into the Attack Titan and eats Willy Tybur in front of all of his remaining friends. Lara Tybur then tries to transform into her War Hammer form before getting punched by Eren right in the middle of it.

She puts up a decent fight against Eren, but his rage isn't going to be stopped by someone like her. He's able to destroy her Titan form and capture Lara, but not before she crystallizes herself. In one of the smartest moments in the series, Eren thinks quickly and grabs the Jaw Titan. He uses the Jaw Titan like a nutcracker to crack the War Hammer's shell and eat her, ending her life and taking her power for good.
