Halloween makes up a huge part of this season, but films based on this holiday are not the only things that movie fans can be enjoying. From rom-coms that really need to be enjoyed under a blanket on a windy night, to family favorites that everyone can enjoy, there are plenty of autumn based films that will give views the colors and feels of the fall season.

The Nightmare Before Christmas certainly ticks a lot of boxes. Boasting the aesthetic of Tim Burton's films, this is a masterpiece in stop motion animation, with a soundtrack that has become both timeless and iconic.

One of Disney's most well renowned yet cult projects, The Nightmare Before Christmas allows families to enjoy the vibes of Halloween while helping them get into the Christmas spirit. Of course, the debate will forever be ongoing as to what holiday the movie really represents.

Harry Potter And The Sorcerers Stones (2001)

The Harry Potter saga takes place across a number of years and therefore represents all seasons. However, there's something that feels especially autumnal about the original film of the series, Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone. 

Asides from the magic, mystical creatures, and witches and wizards that make this feel like a Halloween movie, part of the film is actually set during the fall season, with going back to school often being associated with that time of year. It's another family favorite that fans can enjoy with a glass of pumpkin juice.

Dead Poets Society will give families across the world those fall vibes since it's back to school season. While part of the film is set during this time period, there is something about the atmosphere of the movie that makes it feel like it's September all the time.

Halloweentown (1998)

It doesn't get any more Halloween than this crazy and over the top Disney Channel original, that sees a family learn that they are descendent from sorcerers. The teens follow their Grandma into Halloweentown, a land of mythical monsters where it's fall all year round.

The themes the colors and the atmosphere of Halloweentown all scream fall! The town is decorated with a giant pumpkin straight in its center and it's fair to say that the feeling of autumn is continued throughout each of its beloved sequels.

The Titans (2000)

Another Disney classic, this film was based on a true story of an African American coach taking on an American Football team. Starring Denzel Washington, this film takes a look at racial segregation within schools and has a lot of powerful themes about prejudice.

Fall is always known as football season and this movie is available for families to enjoy on Disney+. The high stakes situation leads to Denzel's leading coach having to win a game in order to keep his job.

Far From Heaven (2002)

Far From Heaven is a gorgeous film that absolutely encapsulates the fall visuals, with many of its shots set up with the beautiful autumn leaves as an amazing backdrop. The film itself covers many incredibly complex themes.
