The Bachelorette is a spin-off from The Bachelor franchise and first appeared on televisions across the country in 2003. The premise is the same as The Bachelor, with the roles reversed. The excitement and thrill of watching the love lives of others play out in front of fans eyes is what makes the show so popular. The bachelorette, along with the contestants, will have to attend a rose ceremony and choose who to dump from the show.
For those fans who love to live vicariously through the screen, this show is perfect. It covers everything from relationships, love and competition, all rolled up into one unmissable package. The show is now a few seasons in, and some of the cast line ups have been unforgettable, and pure TV gold.
Season 9 - Desiree Hartsock
Desiree was first on screens when she went on season 17 of The Bachelor. She was ultimately eliminated in week 8. Her return was much more dramatic, but she was soon pegged as a nice girl. This didn't make great television, but luckily for her, there was drama fueled entertainment with the other contestants, one in particular, Brooks Forester. As with most seasons of The Bachelorette, the journey to find love wasn't an easy one. As soon as Brooks was eliminated, this made way for Desiree to see what was right in front of her all along, Chris Siegfried. Desiree won the jackpot, as she and Chris are still married and now have children together.
Season 17 - Katie Thurston
Katie Thurston was making headlines before her season of The Bachelorette had even started. This season, unlike the others, wrapped up a week early. Numerous men were called out for being on the show for the wrong reasons, and Katie took no prisoners. One of the downsides of the show is whittling down the contestants, so it appeared Katie had a tough job on her hands. Fans loved the rollercoaster, they invested in the men and Katie, and hoped like never before that she would find the man of her dreams.
Then in a turn of events, Blake turned up to fight for Katie's attention, claiming she was the one and she always had been. Unfortunately, to get Katie, he had to get rid of Greg, and, well, Katie did. So, after an emotional break up, Katie and Blake made it all the way to the final.
Season 7 - Ashley Hebert
The Bachelor Nation isn't known for its ultimate success in love, but that doesn't mean there are no success stories out there. Ashley Herbert met J.P Rosenbaum on season 7 of The Bachelorette, making it down the aisle with her winner. Unfortunately, before she managed to get down the aisle, she had to endure her fair share of heartache and emotional blows, especially when two men left the show voluntarily. The bachelorette had to pick herself up and not dwell on the losses. Looking back, these events only helped pave the way for the final ceremony where she married the man of her dreams. This marriage lasted nearly eight years before the pair amicably split.
Season 4 - DeAnna Pappas
DeAnna Pappas first appeared on The Bachelor when Brad Womack shook up the series and sent both of his finalists home, leaving the show alone. This wasn't the end of the road for DeAnna, as she then appeared front and center on The Bachelorette! This is where we first met Jason Mesnick, who also did the switch and later starred on The Bachelor himself.
DeAnna took Jesse Csincsak to the finals, but unfortunately their love wasn't everlasting. This wasn't the end of her story, though DeAnna did go on to marry after the cameras stopped rolling. She met her husband Stephen because his brother Michael Stagliano was a contestant on Season 5 on The Bachelorette, and they actually met at an after-party.
Season 3 - Jennifer Schefft
Jennifer was quite the contestant on The Bachelorette, her search for love wasn't an easy one, and she was set with The Bachelorette curse. After making it to the final with Jerry Ferris and John Paul Merritt, she decided to leave alone. Love wasn't in the air for this one, but it certainly provided fans with entertainment throughout the season. Jennifer Schefft first appeared on screens on The Bachelor where she got engaged to Andrew Firestone, but unfortunately they broke up after a few months, paving her way to The Bachelorette stardom.
Season 18 - Michelle Young
Michelle Young was a unique bachelorette, bringing with her a dose of honesty and brutality to her role. She didn't suffer fools gladly, and she was honest in her approach. She knew what she wanted, and she was prepared to remove anyone who stood in her way. The two men which stood out and caused chaos in Michelle's season were Jamie and Chris, but the one man who took the first impression rose from Michelle, and fans, was Nayte Olukoya. Sparks continued to fly between the pair, and Michelle took her man all the way to the finals, after confessing she was also falling in love with Brandon Jones as well. Ultimately, the decision was hers, and she said yes to Nayte, and the pair are now looking forward to their life together.
Season 14 - Becca Kufrin
, during which he proposed to her and then changed his mind, deciding to pursue Lauren Burnham instead. Ultimately, the right choice for him, as they're still together to this day. This didn't deter Becca from making her mark on The Bachelorette and pursuing her own romance from the driving seat. During her final, she gave her rose to Garett Yrigoyen, but unfortunately, like many others, their romance didn't last and they finally split.
Season 6 - Ali Fedotowsky
Ali Fedotowsky's season was unforgettable. After being a contestant on The Bachelor, she ended up quitting the show and becoming The Bachelorette. This season offered some brilliant contestants and memorable television moments, especially when Justin tried to flee the show in a cast. Some of the funniest moments were seen on this series, and it offered some real entertainment for the fans. Ali took Roberto Martinez to the finals, and although they appeared to make a great couple, unfortunately they didn't last. Still, the season was one of the best yet.
Season 16 - Clare Crawley/Tayshia Adams
Fans of The Bachelorette can't talk about the most dramatic seasons without bringing attention to season 16. Clare Crawley was the oldest bachelorette, and whether this influenced her journey, fans will never know. She is known as one of the fastest bachelorettes to fall in love, and left season 16 four weeks in with her new fiance Dale Moss. Tayshia Adams, who originally starred in The Bachelor, was brought in to take her place. She continued with many more dates and dramas, before finding her partner Zac Clark they got engaged and the season ended. Unfortunately, the pair didn't last the distance and split after a year together.
Season 15 - Hannah Brown
During this season Hannah had to deal with some not-so-nice men and whittle them down to find her prince charming. Luke P was a control freak who tried to shame Hannah for her fantasy suite dates. Perhaps he forgot the nature of the game he signed up to. Hannah stood her ground and didn't take any rubbish from her suitors, and soon gave Luke a piece of her mind in Greece, which fans loved to see. In the end, Hannah chose Jed Wyatt at the final commitment ceremony, only to find out later that he was actually in a relationship with another woman while he was on the show. Unfortunately, this wasn't the best season for love, but it did provide fans with unmissable TV, although they would have loved to have seen Hannah find her happy ever after.
