Dragon Ball series is arguably one of the most iconic series in the anime world, and it's still going strong with a new movie to be released in summer 2022: Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. The series has its own assortment of heroes, who have gone on to become popular and transcend beyond the anime world. Its villains have been hugely popular as well, with bad guys such as Cell, Vegeta, and even the Ginyu Squad gaining a big following,

While every Dragon Ball villain is unique in their own way, the fans over at Ranker have no trouble determining which bad guy is their favorite. These villains have been memorable enough to make a lasting impression.

Zamasu

Zamazu making a move

Zamasu isn't particularly fond of the human race. This Supreme Kai apprentice hailing from Universe 10 hates humans and has concocted an evil plan where he would eradicate all forms of human life.

Zamasu carries out his plan by taking possession of Goku's body so that he could wipe out as much of mortal life as he possibly can. He also gets away with destroying the world in the future, believing that killing a countless number of lives is worth it for how "evil" by nature mortals are.

Fused Zamasu

If unfused Zamasu is a big enough threat on his own, then a fused version of him is an entirely different beast. Fused Zamasu is one of the strongest fusions in Dragon Ball, being a fusion of Future Zamasu and Goku Black.

The final obstacle of the Future Trunks saga, Fused Zamasu essentially yielded immortality to become a more formidable foe. While this has made him killable in the process, it was able to hang with the likes of Goku and Vegeta - while also overpowering them and defeating them both.

Moro

Full Shot of Moro

It's worth noting that Moro hasn't appeared in the anime yet, as he's still a manga-only character as of this writing. Still, that hasn't stopped this planet-eating wizard from gaining a pretty warm reception from the Dragon Ball fans.

The big bad of the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, Moro posed as a serious threat to Universe 7 around ten million years ago. Upon escape, he would embark upon his reign of terror on the Universe. He flaunts a lot of magic power and sees all life as consumable - the latter of which makes him a perfect sociopathic villain.

Hit

Hit throwing a punch

Hit has a few nifty monikers to his name - "Never-Miss Hit" and the "Legendary Hitman". He's a legendary assassin hailing from Universe 6 who has a few useful abilities up his sleeve.

For instance, Hit possesses the Time-Skip ability, which allows him to skip time and go for a counterattack. He can pull off a bunch of other maneuvers with the Time-Skip, such as an Icy Glare and Tremor Pulse. Hit has a very calm and collected personality about him, which may make him stick out a bit to most fans.

Jiren

Headshot of Jiren

The Tournament of Power in Dragon Ball Super introduced many new fighters into the fray, such as Universe 6's Caulifla and Kale. One fighter that has stuck out the most is Jiren - a Pride Trooper and the crowned jewel of Universe 11.

Jiren has certainly shown his power and might during the Tournament of Power, as he shared many classic bouts with Goku. He was able to withstand a Spirit Bomb AND Goku's Super Saiyan God form, all while keeping a composed and honorable aura around him.

Beerus

The most powerful God of Destruction, and the one who reigns over Universe 7, Beerus first debuted as a villain in Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods. Being that he's a powerful entity capable of destroying universes at a whim, he is undoubtedly one of the strongest foes that Goku has ever faced.

Beerus has since become an ally of Goku after sparing the earth while also showing a more silly side to him (if his love for gourmet food is any indication). But considering that he was the first Dragon Ball Z villain in many years, this God of Destruction made quite the impact.

Vegeta

Nowadays, Vegeta fights with the good guys, serving as the series' main anti-hero and Goku's biggest rival. But before he turned face, this Prince of all Saiyans was quite a memorable villain, as he was greatly determined to become the strongest fighter in the Universe.

Vegeta was the main antagonist of one of the earliest Dragon Ball Z arcs, being one of the strongest characters in DBZ's Saiyan Saga, while also vowing to challenge Goku to a fight. His highly-acclaimed character arc saw him turning into more of a hero, although his desire to become stronger than Goku has remained intact.

Broly

Broly going Super Saiyan

There are two versions of Broly that exist. The original Broly proved to be so popular that he made appearances in multiple movies, having a trilogy all for himself. The Broly that was introduced in Dragon Ball Super: Broly, however, is powerful beyond imagination.

The new Broly is much meeker compared to the original, being quiet at first before eventually opening up. Regardless, he is unable to hold in his emotions when stressed, becoming an unstoppable force. He has been able to keep up with the likes of Goku and Vegeta - while they were both in their Super Saiyan Blue forms!

Goku Black

Goku Black is one of the new bad guys to have debuted in Dragon Ball Super, being an alternate incarnation of Zamasu. The reason why he bears a striking resemblance to Goku is this - he's hiding out in the body of an alternate Goku.

Goku Black has dominated much of the Future Trunks saga, posing as a serious threat to Trunks and anyone else that got in his way. He also has his very own Super Saiyan form, Super Saiyan Rosé, which is comparable to Super Saiyan Blue in of strength among other Super Saiyans in Dragon Ball lore.

Frieza

Headshot of Frieza

Frieza has been an iconic foe in the Dragon Ball series, having debuted during Dragon Ball Z's Namek arc. This tyrant is undoubtedly one of the most powerful foes that Goku and his friends have ever faced, as he's destroyed Planet Vegeta and nearly killed a few notable characters.

With his character arc, which served as a culmination of previous many storylines, Frieza has endeared himself to many fans. Some may be less than enthused with how Frieza was later revived, but his spot as the most iconic Dragon Ball is unquestioned.
