MARVEL'S CLOAK AND DAGGER

Tandy and Ty, aka Cloak and Dagger, in Runaways

Although Disney Plus will be developing their own superhero shows and already feature some of ABC's and Freeform's previous Marvel hits, there's still a few you can check out if you're interested in the MCU side of the Disney brand.

Available through Freeform, on Amazon Prime in some countries and of course on DVD and Blu Ray, the show follows two teenagers who are linked from a young age through their incredible powers. With the beautiful backdrop of New Orleans this is a great introduction into Marvel content.

ONCE UPON A TIME

ABC's magical series set in a fictional land of Disney characters is still available through Netflix, on DVD, and through a variety of other sources. The show is incredibly unique, as it's a major crossover between famous fairy tale characters.

There's so many seasons of this successful show and it has such a big fan base that you could watch it for months before really feeling like you need to buy Disney Plus. It's also great to accompany the rewatching of classic animated Disney films.

NATIONAL TREASURE

One of the most underrated Disney live action films follows Nicholas Cage and his band of treasure hunters, as he searches for clues throughout US history, to find some amazing discoveries that have never been seen by man before.

Although there are two films, only the first is on Netflix, but this is a great place to start and both are available on DVD and Blu Ray. It's an excellent adventure and one that would have any watchers raring to go and find their own hidden treasure; plus there's rumors of a sequel in development!

STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS

While the show is on Disney Plus and has a new episode getting released each week, there's still plenty of ways to watch all the other series of the hit animated show. There's really no better time to journey into a galaxy far far away!

Featuring characters like Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Pe Amidala and Ahsoka Tano, the series takes place during the prequel era and expands this incredible universe further. Tune in on a Disney channel or buy the box set and experience the saga in a new way!

DISNEY CHANNEL

Most countries in the world have their own version of Disney Channel, which contains original programming tailored to the region that it's being distributed in. Some absolute classics have come from this channel in the past.

From hit shows to original films which have since inspired various Disney Plus content, there's always something new to get excited about from one of Disney's biggest platforms. Just because Disney Plus is here, doesn't mean we should forget about other great ways to watch Disney!

BOLT

Disney really went through a transition period when they bought Pixar and moved some of their talent over to their own animation studios. This film, featuring an actor dog that believes he's a real superhero, was made during this transition period.

A lot more credit should be given to the project for being part of the newest form of the Disney animation revolution. The movie is still available on Netflix in the US and on DVD, and is really from a pivotal moment in the company's history.

DISNEY NATURE

Disney Nature's documentaries are all truly remarkable and cover a wide range of topics. While they will be available on Disney Plus, they are all also on DVD and Blu Ray. This is also a great way to fill the gap of all the Nat Geo content that's on the platform.

Whether it's penguins, bears or apes, there's a lot of different types of films on offer. These are also great ways to get younger ones to engage with the world around them, as the familiar brand may have them interested in something they wouldn't normally watch.

NETFLIX'S MARVEL SHOWS

If you've already got Netflix and are still trying to put off getting Disney Plus, then Marvel fans have quite a few options. There's plenty of Marvel TV shows on Netflix to choose from, all of which, as of now, are actually set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

What's more, the heroes on Netflix actually share the same universe, with plenty of crossovers and surprises in store for those watching through the shows for the first time. There's some great seasons among the many different shows, which feature characters like Punisher, Elektra, Luke Cage, Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist!

WALT DISNEY DOCUMENTARY

There's so many documentaries to choose from on Disney Plus that it would be difficult to know where to start. Luckily for fans who have not signed up to the service, there's a few other documentaries you can enjoy.

PBS has created a Walt Disney documentary, taking, as they describe, an unparalleled look at the life and career of one of the most successful story tellers on Earth. You can find it on the PBS website and a number of other platforms.
