Otis - Pruitt Taylor Vince
Ubiquitous film and TV actor Pruitt Taylor Vince lent instant cred to the show during his two-episode guest spot in The Walking Dead season 2.
Taylor Vince plays Otis, the hunter/farmhand who accidentally shoots Carl (Chandler Riggs) during the "Bloodletting" episode. After the incident, it is Otis who introduces Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Carl, and Shane (Jon Bernthal) to beloved series regular, Hershell (Scott Wilson). Otis is betrayed by Shane in the follow-up episode, "Save the Last One."
Carter - Ethan Embry
Veteran character actor Ethan Embry (Can't Hardly Wait, Grace and Frankie) appeared in the Season 6 premiere of TWD, playing Alexandria newcomer Carter.
After Rick rubs him the wrong way, Carter plots to assassinate him with the help of Spencer (Austin Nichols), Tobin (Jason Douglas), Francine (Dahlia Legault), and Olivia (Ann Mahoney). Alas, Rick gets ultimate revenge when Carter is attacked by a walker.
Eastman - John Carroll Lynch
Fargo and AHS alum John Carroll Lynch made a lasting impression during his single-episode guest appearance in "Here's Not Here," the fourth frame of Season 6.
Lynch plays Eastman, a secluded woodsman who appears dangerous after knocking Morgan out with a stick and holding him captive against his will. However, the former psychiatrist attempts to rehab Morgan and his murderous M.O. by giving him reading materials and teaching him Aikido. Alas, the lessons go for naught when Eastman is bitten by a walker and buried by Morgan.
Paula - Alicia Witt
After years away from the limelight, Dune, Bongwater, and The Sopranos alum Alicia Witt made a pleasant guest-starring appearance in "The Same Boat," the 13th episode of Season 6.
Witt drew critical praise for her short-lived turn as Paula, an unconscionable killer who confronts Carol (Melissa McBride) when she and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) are held captive by Negan and The Saviors. Before Paula is killed by a ferocious walker, she forces Carol to take stock of her lifestyle and incites a revolutionary change in how she behaves.
Mike - Aldis Hodge
Prior to ascending as the A-list star of The Invisible Man and One Night in Miami, Aldis Hodge spent much of his acting career on television. In the 9th episode of TWD season 4, "After," Hodge guest-starred as Michonne's boyfriend in a riveting dream sequence.
After surviving an attack from The Governor (David Morrissey), Michonne seeks refuge in an abandoned car for the night. While asleep, she dreams of her time with Mike (Hodge) and his friend Terry (Brandon Fobbs) prior to the apocalypse. The dreams turn nightmarish when Mike and Terry turn into walkers.
Edwin Jenner - Noah Emmerich
The Truman Show and The Americans star Noah Emmerich played a key role during the final two episodes of TWD's inaugural season. Emmerich portrayed Dr. Edwin Jenner, a sole CDC scientist who gives crucial intel to Rick and the survivors.
In the penultimate episode, "Wildfire," Dr. Jenner is seen sampling DNA from the viral pandemic the series revolves around. In the finale, "TS-19," Jenner reveals that his wife was bitten by a zombie and turned into a walker before he attempts to seal Rick and the gang inside a self-destructing lab facility.
Denise Cloyd - Merrit Wever
Beginning with the second episode of Season six, popular TV ad film actress Merrit Wever enjoyed a 9-episode run on the show as Alexandria's substitute doctor, Denise Cloyd.
After revealing her fear of becoming a surgeon, Denise serves as a psychiatrist to help PTSD-ridden survivors. As Tara's (Alanna Masterson) girlfriend as well, Denise has one of the largest character arcs of any guest star on the series to date. Her accidental death from an arrow shot through her eye by Dwight with Daryl's (Norman Reedus) crossbow was sad for fans.
Gamma - Thora Birch
American Beauty and Ghost World star Thora Birch enjoyed a memorable 9-episode guest-spot on TWD as Mary, aka Gamma, a member of The Whisperers.
After saving Alpha (Samantha Morton) and Lydia's (Cassady McClincy) life, Gamma climbs the ranks to become the Whisperers' third-in-command. However, when Gamma learns of Alpha's dishonesty about Lydia's death, she leaves the Whisperers to the Coalition to improve her situation and find her long-lost nephew.
Mays - Robert Patrick
Robert Patrick has played some of the all-time best villains in cinematic history and brings the same intensity to his role as Mays in TWD. In Season 10 Episode 19, "One More," Patrick frightens as Mays, an unhinged man who kidnaps Aaron and makes Gabriel play Russian roulette.
Despite his terrifying nature, Mays makes the mistake of freeing the men from captivity. Afterward, Mays is killed by Gabriel using the mace clamped to Aaron's arm.
Severed Head - Johnny Depp
More of a glorified cameo appearance than a legit guest-starring spot, Johnny Depp's severed head was used in the 12th episode of Season 6. According to showrunner and FX artists Grego Nicotero, "we had sculpted an emaciated version of a dummy head for something and we used Johnny Depp's head as a basis just for a clay sculpt."
Depp's severed head appears on the ground before a car, sitting on the right hand side of two other decapitated heads.
