There are The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. The series starred Will Smith as himself, who at the time was making quite a name for himself in the music industry. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air helped launch his film career, while also shaping Smith’s persona as a smooth-talking womanizer.
By the end of the series, Will had cut off his relationship with Lisa Wilkes, but in real life, Will Smith got married to Jada Pinkett only a year after The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air ended. Will was constantly flirting with women on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, which resulted in a ton of hilarious pick-up lines.
Updated January 23rd, 2021 by Kristen Palamara: moments of hilarity, mostly from its dialogue, and Will's constant drive to try to "pick up" women with these lines are part of its charm.
"GIRL, I GOT TO TELL YOU. THAT SUIT LOOK LIKE A PIECE OF 'GOOD GOD' WRAPPED IN SOME 'HAVE MERCY' WITH A SIDE OF 'MMM!'"
Somehow Will bundles up multiple pick-up lines in one sentence and it's pretty over-the-top, but it's also completely in character for Will to say a line like this.
Will doesn't shy away from complimenting a woman on her looks and although women might not always respond to his strong pick-up lines and out of the context of the show they can be a bit cringy, they're typically pretty charming when coming from Will.
"BABY, WHATEVER IT IS THAT YOU SERVING, YOU BETTER GIVE ME A DOUBLE."
This is a typical pick-up line, but as usual, Will delivers it with charm, ease, and self-confidence in the show.
Will wasn't afraid to put himself out there and try to ask women out with cheesy pick-up lines like this one and most of the time it was harmless and sometimes even charming although if it was potentially embarrassing for both Will and whoever he was trying to pick-up.
"I GUESS I CAN KISS HEAVEN GOODBYE...BECAUSE IT'S GOTTA BE A SIN TO LOOK THAT GOOD."
This line isn't technically a pick-up line because Will says it about himself, but it's in the same vein as a pick-up line and highlights Will's unwavering self-confidence.
Will thinks he looks incredible and can't help but say this line about how he looks so good that it must be a sin. It could easily be considered a pick-up line if Will said this to someone he was trying to pick-up, but it's just as funny that he says it about himself.
"I'VE NEVER SAID THIS TO A GIRL BEFORE, BUT BABY, YOU ALL THAT AND A BAG OF CHIPS."
Although Will didn't come up with the phrase "all that and a bag of chips" it was common slang in the 1990s meaning that someone was great but emphasized a person's greatness beyond just that word.
This is a pretty nice compliment from Will in comparison to a lot of his other pick-up lines because it doesn't only focus on a woman's appearance. Will chooses to compliment a woman on more than just their appearance by calling her all that and a bag of chips.
"YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY: BEHIND EVERY SUCCESSFUL MAN THERE'S A WOMAN. BUT IF YOU WANTED TO SWITCH POSITIONS I'M WITH THAT, TOO."
Typically Will's pick-up lines are surface level and compliment a woman on her looks while also showing that Will is more than interested in dating her, but this line takes it a step further in introducing a sexual innuendo within the pick-up line.
He begins with a well-known line about how they say behind every successful man is a woman, and then says that she could lead in front, but it also works as a sexual innuendo.
“EXCUSE ME, BUT I THINK I’VE SEEN YOUR PICTURE SOMEWHERE BEFORE. OH YEAH, THAT’S RIGHT. IT WAS IN THE DICTIONARY RIGHT NEXT TO…KABLAM!”
In the fourth season of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Will and Carlton go to college. Thankfully for Will, there are just as many beautiful women at ULA as there is at Bel-Air Academy. While Will eventually becomes romantically involved with Jackie Ames (Tyra Banks) he flirts with multiple women at his college.
In the episode “All Guts, No Glory” Will tries to drop a philosophy class, only to realize that the teacher is one of the best that he has ever had. Before he realizes this though, Will jokes around in class and even hits on a girl saying, “Excuse me, but I think I’ve seen your picture somewhere before. Oh yeah, that’s right. It was in the dictionary right next to… kablam!”
“HEY GIRL, YOU LOOK SO GOOD I’D MARRY YOUR BROTHER JUST TO GET IN YOUR FAMILY.”
In the episode “Ain’t No Business Like Show Business” in season 3, Will’s friend from Philadelphia named Keith comes to visit. Keith is an up and coming comedian, who is offended when Will says that being a stand-up comedian isn’t that hard.
Will accompanies Keith to an audition and sees a pretty girl, who he flirts with saying, “Hey girl, you look so good I’d marry your brother just to get in your family.” Will no doubt has a ton of hilarious pick-up lines, but this one probably wouldn’t go over well with any girl.
“I’D JUST LIKE TO APOLOGIZE, ON BEHALF OF MY GENDER.”
“Ain’t No Business Like Show Business” actually has two great pick-up lines back to back. When Keith is waiting to do his audition, Will asks him to do the chivalry t, which basically consists of Keith acting like a jerk so Will can come in and save the day.
Keith starts obnoxiously hitting on a woman and soon after Will comes over and asks if Keith is bothering him. Will tells Keith to go away before he has to take off his belt, which “scares” Keith. Will then apologizes for Keith’s behavior saying, “Look, miss, I’d just like to apologize on behalf of my gender for his rude behavior.”
“GIRL IF GOD MADE ANYTHING PRETTIER THAN YOU I HOPE HE KEPT IT FOR HIMSELF.”
In the episode “Blood is Thicker Than Mud” in season 4, Will and Carlton hope to the same fraternity. While Will is a shoo-in, the of the fraternity think Carlton is a nerd and make him do chores with no intention of having him .
During one of the parties at the frat house, Will sees a woman dancing and quickly goes up to her saying, “Girl if God made anything prettier than you I hope he kept it for himself.” The line didn’t go over well with the girl, but it was funny none the less.
“YO BABY, I KNOW YOUR FEET MUST BE TIRED ‘CAUSE YOU BEEN RUNNIN’ THROUGH MY MIND ALL DAY. COME HERE, GIRL!”
Despite Will becoming romantically involved with several women, he usually moved onto a new girl pretty fast. There is no better example than when Will tries sweet-talking a woman at Bel-Air Academy and after he pours his heart out, he sees another woman walk by and says, “Yo baby, I know your feet must be tired ‘cause you been runnin’ through my mind all day. Come here, girl!”
This pick-up line didn’t originate on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, but the way Smith delivers it makes it one of the funniest lines in the show.
