Stone Cold Steve Austin retired from WWE due to an injured neck that carried the risk of paralysis. Released in 2011, Tactical Force was a Canadian action movie that started Stone Cold Steve Austin and Michael Jai White (Spawn). This was a straight-to-DVD release with Austin as SWAT Captain Frank Tater, the leader of a four-man team. They cause a lot of damage in their mission to start the movie and are forced to go back through training. However, the training exercise went wrong when they ended up in the middle of two rival gangs in an abandoned hanger with no real weapons.

Austin is Manning, a partner of former black ops operative Tom Steele (Seagal), sent to decommission an old prison and oversee two female prisoners' arrival. They then face overwhelming odds when a team of elite mercenaries shows up looking for the women. When they learn one of the women is a CIA courier, and the other is a mole, the two men find they are in the middle of a very dangerous situation.

In 2011, Stone Cold Steve Austin took on a role that required fewer guns and explosive action, as he starred in the movie Knockout. Austin stars as Dan Barnes, a former heavyweight boxer who chose to retire to escape the violence in his life. However, when a new boxing champion starts to tear through all the opposition, Dan returns to help train a young newcomer and prepare him to face this seemingly unstoppable champion.

In 2013, Stone Cold Steve Austin teamed with another '80s action DTV legend in Dolph Lundgren. This movie was The Package, and Austin plays a heavy named Tommy Wicker, who works for a local crime boss known as Big Doug. When Big Doug asks him to deliver a package to The German (Lundgren), a rival gang kills his partner and wants the package for themselves. This leads to an eventual clash with the German himself.

Hunt To Kill (2010) - 5.2 - Available To Watch On Prime Video

In 2010, it was time for Stone Cold Steve Austin to appear in a straight-to-DVD movie with Eric Roberts. This was Hunt to Kill, which had Austin star as Jim Rhodes, a border patrol agent, who opens the movie by walking into a meth lab and coming out with his partner dead.

The movie moves to the present day, where Jim lives in the mountains with his teenage daughter. When the plan of a thief to backstab his partners and kill them, the other thieves go to get revenge and take Jim's daughter hostage to force him to help them.

Stone Cold Steve Austin appeared in the movie Recoil in 2011 alongside another action legend in Danny Trejo. This is a remake of a 1998 action movie, with Austin as Ryan Varrett, a former police officer, set out to avenge the murder of his family. His wife and son died at the hands of a gang, and Ryan quits his job as a cop and sets out to bring bloody vengeance to everyone responsible for his family's deaths.

Damage was the first straight-to-DVD movie that Stone Cold Steve Austin starred in after his first two bigger budget appearances. Austin stars as John Brickner, a man out of prison on parole after seven years in prison for manslaughter.

WWE Films produced the film, which Lionsgate distributed as the only movie with Austin as the lead to get a theatrical release. The movie has 10 convicts forced to fight to the death in an illegal competition broadcast to the public. Vinnie Jones was the other big name in the movie, and while it only has a 15-percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it is Austin's third best movie according to IMDb votes.

The first movie that Stone Cold Steve Austin ever appeared in was the 2005 Adam Sandler football movieThe Longest Yard. The movie was a remake of the classic 1974 Bruce Reynolds movie, and Reynolds came back for a role in this movie. Sandler was a former football star who was involved in a high-profile point-shaving scandal. While in prison, the warden uses his power to force him to play in a football exhibition against the vicious guards. Austin is Guard Dunham in the movie. Kevin Nash and Bill Goldberg are other professional wrestlers to appear.
