Thor: Love And Thunder will introduce some of the most significant characters from Thor comic books into the MCU, including Gorr the God Butcher and the Jane Foster version of the God of Thunder. But some of the best Thor-related comic book characters are still not yet in the MCU, including some of his greatest allies like Beta Ray Bill and Hercules.
Despite Thor appearing in four solo movies, a large number of his ing cast from the comics are still on the sidelines of the MCU. That includes some of his most prominent villains like Ulik and Seth from the Ennead. Recent developments in the MCU suggest their live-action debut may not be that far away, but for other great comics characters, it could be a long wait before they appear.
Hercules
There have been some
Hercules is based on the Greek mythological hero and first appeared in Journey Into Mystery Annual #1 in 1965. He's since been a foe and ally of Thor and a member of the Avengers. Fans may not have to wait much longer; the trailer for the movie teased a figure who appears to be his father Zeus.
Ulik
A fair number of Thor's greatest villains in Marvel Comics have appeared in live-action but Ulik remains one of the best characters yet to appear in the MCU. Ulik is a Rock Troll from one of the realms that border Asgard and he has frequent clashes with Thor.
Ulik first appeared in Thor #137 in 1967 and it's later revealed in the comics that an ancient battle between Asgard and the Rock Trolls may have led to the forging of Mjolnir. It's possible that Ulik or the Rock Trolls have some role in the information of Mjolnir in the MCU.
Lorelei
Lorelei is the sister of Amora, The Enchantress, one of the most powerful magicians in the Marvel Universe. She's powerful in her own right, with her mystical powers unleashed by Seth, the Egyptian god of Chaos and a potential villain in the MCU.
A version of Lorelei appeared in the first season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. but with the canonicity of that ABC series still uncertain vis-à-vis the greater MCU, Lorelei is still safely a great Thor character who has yet to appear in the franchise.
Absorbing Man
Absorbing Man is one of Thor's greatest villains in the comics and one of the best Thor characters yet to crossover into the MCU. He first appeared in Journey Into Mystery #114 back in 1965 and has been a consistent foe of Thor ever since.
The Absorbing Man is a notable member of the Masters of Evil, a team that may be forming in the MCU. He also has a long association with Titania, who will appear in the She-Hulk MCU series on Disney+, possibly hunting that Crusher Creel isn't far behind.
Angela
Angela is the daughter of Odin and Frigga who was thought to have died as a young girl. Her family connection to Thor makes her one of the best characters not yet in the MCU and if and when she does appear, it would be the culmination of a long, strange trip.
Angela actually began as a character from the world of Spawn, co-created by writer Neil Gaiman and artist Todd McFarlane. After a protracted legal battle over ownership of the character, Gaiman prevailed and later sold the rights to Angela to Marvel Comics.
Storm
Storm is one of the most powerful X-Men in Marvel Comics, so her absence from the MCU is obvious to this point, But she's also a character with a deep connection to Thor who has actually been Thor herself thanks to her undeniable worthiness to wield Mjolnir.
Storm first proved her worthiness when Loki captured her along with the New Mutants and gifted her a false Mjolnir. She would also prove worthy of the real deal in various alternate realities, including issue #10 of the second volume of What If..?
Seth
Seth is a member of the Ennead and the god of Chaos in the Heliopolitian pantheon of gods that has recently been introduced in Moon Knight. He made his comic debut fighting Thor, making him one of the best Thor-related characters from Marvel Comics yet to appear in the MCU.
Seth first appeared in Thor #240 in 1975 in the same storyline that introduced most of the Ennead. With the others just recently appearing in Moon Knight, it is very likely that Seth isn't the far behind, either in the streaming series on perhaps in the movie.
Thunderstrike
One of the most significant figures in Thor's comic book history is nowhere to be seen in the MCU. Eric Masterson took over the role as Thor in the early 90s, proving himself worthy of Mjolnir. He then became Thunderstrike when Thor reclaimed the mantle.
Thunderstrike is one of the more prominent characters from the comics who has been Thor, making his absence conspicuous. With Jane Foster taking up the mantle in the MCU, it doesn't seem likely that he will appear any time soon.
Silver Surfer
Because of their cosmic connections, Thor and Silver Surfer are closely linked in Marvel Comics. Their many encounters - dating back to Loki trying to use the Silver Surfer to get revenge on Thor - make the powerful Herald of Galactus one of the best Thor-related characters yet to appear in the MCU. The time may be coming soon, though.
With Marvel Studios now in full possession of the Fantastic Four and all its associated characters, the Silver Surfer is imminent in the MCU. He may not wait for the Fantastic Four and could appear on his own, possibly as early as Thor: Love And Thunder.
Beta Ray Bill
Beta Ray Bill is arguably the best Thor character yet to make it to the MCU. He's a major and popular figure from the comics who proved himself worthy of Mjolnir during Walt Simonson's epic run as writer and artist on the title in the late 80s.
Beta Ray Bill is a Korbonite, an alien warrior who actually became the first person to wield Stormbreaker in the comics. He was teased in Thor: Ragnarok, with a statue of his face affixed to the exterior of the gladiatorial arena on the planet Sakaar.
