The Trolls franchise will continue with the third theatrical installment, Trolls 3, set for a 2023 release date. Meanwhile, the streaming series Trolls: TrollsTopia came to a close on August 15, 2022, serving as the story that will be picked up for the film to build upon.

Wizards: Tales Of Arcadia is about a former apprentice of Merlin who travels back in time with his team to defend Camelot, hoping to prove his worth. Although Wizards: Tales Of Arcadia has a lot of action, it’s comparable to Trolls: TrollsTopia through the way the protagonists behave.

TrollsTopia sees Poppy leading her people against forces that threaten her, while Wizards: Tales Of Arcadia has Douxie attempt the same. The limited series has a concise story from start to finish, which leaves no plot threads hanging for a show that is complete in every way.

All Hail King Julien (2014-17)

Madagascar fans will be well aware of King Julien, who headlines this prequel. It follows Julien during his ascent to the throne and his struggles at keeping the lemur community intact. Trolls: TrollsTopia has pretty much the same outline, only with trolls in place of lemurs.

All Hail King Julien has a slapstick quality that makes it an easy watch for young viewers, with Madagascar enthusiasts also getting to see how the character got to where he was in the films. TrollsTopia fans will like how All Hail King Julien reserves a place for the king’s growth into a leader like Poppy has in the former series.

Monsters At Work (2021-)

There are a lot of great characters in Monsters at Work, including the original duo of Sulley and Mike. The show is both a prequel and sequel to the first film, depicting the lives of the monsters during their work. Trolls: TrollsTopia viewers will find the tight-knit aspect of the series to be a selling point.

TrollsTopia shows the characters trying and stumbling during their attempts to co-exist, which is what Monsters at Work also has on show. The series generally follows the hilarious pratfalls of the main characters, with the intervention of Sulley and Mike at various points.
