After maintaining enough stealth to escape from soldiers in the third chapter of The Last of Us: Part 1, players will eventually encounter deadly Clicker enemies that impede their progress near the midpoint of this section, guarding a corridor before The Museum. Players are introduced to Clickers for the first time within this part of the narrative, called The Outskirts, and have limited methods or knowledge on fighting these feral and deadly horrors of the dystopia. The confined space of the mentioned corridor presents perhaps the most challenging of these Clicker run-ins due to their sensitive AI making them incredibly aggressive.

The savage ferocity of a Clicker is presented early on to the player, where the game encourages them to use stealth to get around their roaming paths. However, even the slightest sounds can set these enemies in the player's direction, so tools such as bricks or other heavy objects are recommended to be within the inventory to throw and distract Clickers away. Unfortunately, at this point in the story, players do not have access to weapon upgrades yet to kill a Clicker in The Last of Us: P1, so avoiding a direct fight should be the initial strategy before even approaching the corridor in the first place.

The Last Of Us Part I Frenzied Clicker Grappling Joel

This dangerous corridor shows up as players try to leave the Downtown into the Museum and feature more than one Clicker guarding the path out. These are fully transformed Clickers, not simply the infected players managed to eliminate during this section. Right past the safe, these Clickers block the way to the elevator at the north end of the hallway. Players can use an object thrown toward the left-hand side of the area to divert the Clickers' attention for a brief duration to sneak the rest of the way forward.

The interactive narrative features of The Last of Us: P1 are incredibly cinematic but might throw a wrench into a player's plan to get through this corridor. Joel has to boost Tess up to grab a nearby ladder, which inevitably makes a noise that attracts the Clickers again. Players have to wait for Tess and Ellie to climb up this ladder first, so they might need to hold off the Clickers long enough to escape should the enemies take notice. Clambering through the hole at the top of this broken building remains the best way to get through the Clicker corridor in The Last of Us: Part 1, but it is by far the last time players will have to overcome these staples of the apocalypse.
