The iconic Marvel hero Wolverine is one of the most popular X-Men characters in the entire franchise, known for his feral behavior, adamantium-lined claws, and intensely powerful healing factor. Over the past 50 years since Logan's debut in 1974 the circle of Wolverine's "family" has gradually expanded, with many characters close to Logan possessing unique and incredible abilities that Wolverine wishes he had.
While Wolverine's "Snikt Family" consists of his close circle of children - Akihiro, Laura Kinney, and Gabby Kinney - there are also countless Multiversal children, siblings, and associates that are all connected to the greater "Wolverine Family," be they heroes or villains. From Fang's pheromone control to Torrent's weather manipulation, here are the 15 best powers held by of Wolverine's extended "family" that Logan doesn't possess, ranked:
15 Sabreclaw's Finger Claws
The villain Hudson Logan from Earth-982, otherwise known as Sabreclaw, was introduced in 1999's J2 #8 as part of Marvel's new MC2 line of comics. Sabreclaw is Wolverine's biological son and the half-brother of Rina Logan, the heroic Wild Thing, who was the daughter of Logan and the assassin Elektra. Sabreclaw possessed many of the same abilities as his father Wolverine, except instead of claws protruding from his hands, Hudson had razor-sharp canine teeth and retractable claws that came out of his fingertips.
14 Laura Kinney's Foot Claws
Laura Kinney, originally known as the experimental X-23 and now successor to the moniker Wolverine, is the most popular member of the Snikt Family besides Logan himself, debuting in 2003's NYX #3. Logan's biological daughter, Laura is an impressively skilled assassin who has grown tremendously since her debut as a traumatized but heroic young girl. Possessing very similar abilities to her father, Laura also has a single retractable claw in each of her feet, making her even more lethal and capable of defeating opponents in unique ways.
13 Jimmy Hudson's Organic Metal
Jimmy Hudson is Wolverine's biological son from Marvel's original Ultimate Universe, making his debut in 2010's Ultimate X #1, and eventually being transported to the main Earth-616 universe. What makes Jimmy's Wolverine physiology unique is that, unlike his father Logan, Jimmy is able to coat his entire skeleton - and his naturally occurring bone claws - with a metallic substance at will. While the metal is sadly not adamantium, he is able to coat his teeth with the material and control his weight by removing the metal, unlike his father.
12 Wild Thing's Psychic Claws
Rina Logan, the heroic Wild Thing and half-sister of Sabreclaw, debuted in 1998 J2 #5, and became an incredibly popular character in her own right as the "Daughter of Wolverine." While Rina has much of her father's abilities, namely his increased strength and regenerative healing, she did not inherit his famous bone claws. Instead, Wild Thing has psionic abilities similar to Psylocke which allow her to create psychic claws, which are able to damage people mentally and also inflict physical damage if she concentrates enough.
11 Kate Howlett's Psychic Light Projection
Kate Howlett is the young daughter of Wolverine and his longtime love interest Jean Grey, existing as the only Multiversal version of Jean and Logan's potential children. Introduced in 2017's Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows #6, Kate decided to go by the name "Shine" after discovering his psychic light projection abilities. Kate is able to generate and manipulate her psychic light into concussive blasts, use it to access people's memories, has precognitive abilities, and even holds powerful telepathic powers similar to her mother.
10 Dog Logan's Time-Traveling
"Dog" Logan, son of the Howlett's groundskeeper Thomas Logan, had a complex and tragic history. Beaten often by his father, and treated like an actual animal, Dog eventually became set on killing his childhood friend and secret half-brother Wolverine for murdering his father and scarring his face. Eventually, Dog comes into possession of a stash of "time diamonds" from the Yukon, using them to travel the timeline and become a major villain, before doing a heel turn and turning heroic at the prompting of Logan's student Quentin Quire.
9 Fang's Pheromone Control
Akihiro, the "long-lost" biological son of Wolverine, debuted as a villain using the name Daken and now operates as a major X-Men hero under the moniker Fang. Fang has all his father's abilities, already making him a scarily formidable opponent, but also has incredibly powerful pheromone abilities. These allow him to manipulate someone's emotions - like fear, depression, and happiness - as well as the ability to mask his own scent so well that even Wolverine is unable to track him, making him an even more deadly killer.
8 Cannon Foot's Super-Strength
Cannon Foot is a member of the "Mongrels," a group of Wolverine's long-lost biological children that Logan had no idea he had even fathered. Manipulated by the then-villainous Daken and the Wolverine-hating The Red Right Hand group, Cannon Foot and his siblings all fought Wolverine and were tragically murdered by him. Cannon Foot had abilities that seemingly blended Wolverine and Beast's powers, with retractable finger and toe claws and massively increased strength that allowed him to fully pick Logan up without any issues.
7 Hulk Jr's Hulk Abilities
Hulk Jr., or Bruce Banner Jr., was the only surviving member of the Hulk Gang after Old Man Logan slaughtered the other Hulks following the murder of his own family. Taking Hulk Jr. as his own ward, Old Man Logan raised Bruce Jr. to become a hero, unlike his disgusting biological father. Possessing the same gamma-irradiated Hulk abilities as that of the Earth-616 Hulk, except being able to keep his intelligence while using his Hulk strength, Hulk Jr. became an impressive hero in his own right.
6 John Howlett Jr.'s Intangibility & Invisibility
John Howlett Jr. is the older half-brother of Logan, introduced in 2004s Wolverine: The End. Also going by the moniker "The White Ghost," John was abandoned by his family and left to rot in an asylum after his bone claws first appeared, making him hate his family and the entire world. Eventually manipulating Logan into a fight, John revealed that not only does he have all of Wolverine's abilities, but he also has the impressive power to make himself invisible and intangible, beating Logan several times in hand-to-hand combat.
