Envisioned by Peter Gould and Vince Gilligan, Breaking Bad spin-off. Like it's predecessor, Better Call Saul is known for its layered and complex characters that drive different storylines, depicting Jimmy McGill's transformation into Saul Goodman.

With appearances from some new characters, Better Call Saul depicts the law and justice part of Albuquerque, along with the inevitable drug scene in the city. There are so many characters that the viewers love, and here, we are going to take a look at some of the best of them.

Stacy

Mike's daughter-in-law Stacy gets a little background story in Better Call Saul. Things about her husband Matty are revealed, who was murdered by his dirty fellow police officers. Throughout the series, Stacy is seen juggling her work, with managing Mike's sometimes ill-tempered behavioral cycles and parenting her daughter. The thing to like about her is she never seems to complain and rarely loses her temper.

Hector Salamanca

The Hector we knew from Breaking Bad always used to be on a chair, paralyzed and ringing bells. He looked so weak, but that's not the Hector the viewers get to see in Better Call Saul, at least, for a while. His demeanor in the series tells you exactly why he is so feared in the south.

Some things are the same, though, like him saying "family is everything." While he is a big-time official of the Juarez Cartel, he doesn't trust both Don Eladio and that hate is reflected in his family.

Howard Hamlin

Howard is the name partner of the law firm Hamlin, Hamlin, and McGill in Albuquerque. He is a friend to Chuck, Jimmy's brother, which means that he is always caught in the crossfire between the brothers. Fearing for Chuck's mental state, Howard advises him to be at home while compensating him graciously.

Even though Howard likes Jimmy, the feeling isn't mutual, and that means that Howard suffers from Jimmy's tantrums after Chuck's death.

Chuck McGill

Jimmy's brother Chuck McGill is introduced in the series as a man suffering from a very unique mental state—he has an allergy to electricity. Chuck is a man who likes nothing less than perfection and also has some hatred for Jimmy embedded deep within him.

That's why, when Jimmy becomes a lawyer, Chuck thinks he conned his way through it like he always does. He dies a gruesome death, as he killed himself by lighting up his own house.

Gustavo Fring

Mike Ehrmantraut and Gustavo Fring Better Call Saul

Gustavo from Breaking Bad is quite similar to the one in Better Call Saul. He has an incredibly sharp political brain that helps him come out on top of almost every precarious situation without even getting his hands dirty. He also has an eye for people whom he can trust, as he judges Mike impeccably.

The only loss he suffers throughout the series is not being able to get rid of Lalo for good, as he is still walking and breathing despite Gus' airtight plan.

Lalo Salamanca

Lalo smiling in the restaurant kitchen in Better Call Saul

Lalo takes over the drug operation in Albuquerque from Hector when the latter becomes paralyzed. He is a charming man who likes to have fun with everything he does. He is quite tough and thinks that Gustavo played a hand in putting Hector in a chair.

He wants to hurt Gustavo, and that obsession puts him on top of Gustavo's "to-kill list." Despite that, Lalo never lets his anger show up on his face, remaining as light-hearted as ever. But, he also has a proclivity for mood swings.

Nacho

Nacho was first introduced in the series as the right hand of Tuco Salamanca, but, soon, he became one of the most complex characters in the series. Being a family man, Nacho doesn't like the Salamanca family's way of dealing with things.

He is the one who paralyzes Hector after colluding with Mike to get rid of Tuco. Gus uses this situation to his advantage as he continually blackmails Nacho so that he gets some insight into Lalo's operations. Nacho is covered with dangerous gangsters from all sides, and he is currently living on thin ice. If Lalo figures out Nacho is informing on him, he and his family will be in trouble in season six.

Mike

Mike Ehrmantraut is a character that we get to know a lot about in this series. His background story is devastating to hear. He was a dirty cop, unlike his son Matty, and, when Mike tried to force him to become dirty as well, Matty didn't oblige. His son's stubbornness got him killed, and Mike just continually blames himself for that.

Still, he wants to provide for Stacy and her granddaughter, so he accepts the job offer from Gus. Mike is a soldier; tough, but he can be reasoned with. The more you watch him, the more you want to curse Walter White for killing him in the final season of Breaking Bad.

Jimmy McGill

Jimmy is the protagonist of the story, even though Better Call Saul gives a background to many Breaking Bad characters. There are a lot of new things the viewers learn about him, like the fact that he had a brother and a wife. Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman is an interesting one, and it all stems from Jimmy's unsuccessful relationships.

He loves his brother, cares for him, wants to make him proud, but all he gets is hate from Chuck. When you see his experiences, you recognize why Jimmy turned into Saul Goodman.

Kim Wexler

Kim Wexler

The only character that fascinates more than Jimmy is Kim Wexler, his wife. She is very complicated and surprises the viewers at many turns, just like Walter White used to do in Breaking Bad. While she knows about Jimmy's tendency to con people, she doesn't pull away from him, and, sometimes, she even demands help.

The end to season five leaves the viewers in splits as Kim, the good lawyer, comes up with a plan to destroy Howard's professional career just to close the Sandpiper Case and get Jimmy the money he deserves. Right now, no one can say who's the bad influence in this complex relationship between Jimmy and Kim.
