Better Call Saul is a pretty dark and ominous show. But like with any series, even one as dark as this, there are still funny characters who have a knack for lightening the mood or putting things into perspective. Jimmy, AKA Saul, is one of the most obvious, with his charming, overly corny demeanor. He and Kim, after all, love pulling practical jokes/cons, which in and of itself is funny, even if they sometimes go too far (think Jimmy's elaborate Howard disguise).
But who are the funniest characters on the show? That will depend on perspective. Each is funny in their own right, but it depends on the interpretation of their behavior. Some may only be funny in certain situations. But chances are, each has made fans laugh.
Huell
Huell has only been seen a few times on Better Call Saul, but fans know from Breaking Bad that he's a pretty funny character. He is a talented pickpocket who can grab anything from just about anyone without them realizing it until long after the deed has been done.
Working as Saul's bodyguard, all it takes is a simple shift of his foot to trip someone and get what he wants. No matter the job, Huell is always up to the task and can handle it with a dose of both intimidation and humor.
Howard
Sadly, Howard saw his dead end in the mid-season finale of the final sixth season, which was one of the predictions about how Better Call Saul would end, according to Reddit. He was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time and became collateral damage to Lalo who didn't have time for this unknown man getting in his way.
What was funniest about Howard was how he really couldn't be read. He clearly kept a lot of pain inside, but he was sometimes so overly charming that it was tough not to laugh. When he slyly had the elderly woman from the Sandpiper lawsuit sit in a wheelchair, even though she made it clear that she could walk just fine, it was a funny moment. Meanwhile, his frantic face when he realized Jimmy not only drugged him but also set him up to embarrass himself might not have been humorous in circumstance, but fans of Jimmy loved seeing his joke play out perfectly. The way Jimmy could get under Howard's skin and cause him to try to react without losing his temper and break his stoic character was entertaining.
Craig
Craig Kettleman, one of the first big victims of Jimmy's cons, was not an honorable man, but rather embezzled millions from his company. When Jimmy reunited with him and his wife Betsy later on, running a tax company from a trailer, Craig was curious as to what Jimmy wanted and willing and able to go along.
He came across, however, as the weaker personality in the marriage, with Betsy often taking over and pushing her desires. Indeed, Betsy was one of the more intelligent Better Call Saul villains. But every interaction with Craig and Jimmy is always hilarious because he tries so desperately to do something then balks in fear when Betsy takes over and says no.
Mike
Mike isn't overtly funny, but he is no stranger to sarcasm and uses it at every turn. Even if he isn't smiling or laughing when he says something, there's a subtle humor to how he handles people and certain situations, even when they are deeply serious.
Mike is very matter-of-fact in the way he speaks. Some of his best moments, however, come when he is playing with his granddaughter and interacts with her as Pop-Pop. The scene where he tells her it's her last glass of juice since she already had two is so adorable and relatable and gives fans a glimpse of how Mike can be funny and sweet when he wants to be.
Joey Dixon
Any time Jimmy needs something filmed, whether it's a video to frame someone like Howard or a sleazy commercial to sell his services, he turns to Joey Dixon and his crew. By day, Joey is a film student at the University of New Mexico (later a guest lecturer). But at night, or whenever a high-paying job calls, he will do whatever Jimmy asks…for a fee, of course. He is often involved in Jimmy's best cons on Better Call Saul.
In season 6, he orchestrates the filming with a look-a-like intended to fool Howard into thinking a judge working a case is compromised. Despite taking gray area jobs for cash, Joey still takes his craft very seriously. The funniest thing about him, however, is how adamant he always is that no one touch his equipment whenever he is called to a job, or away from class.
Drama Girl
Known only as Drama Girl, she's the make-up artist who works with Joey and Saul on Saul Goodman Productions. Always up for a gig, especially when Jimmy is in a bind and willing to pay a lot, she helps transform people into characters Jimmy wants to create. It might be impersonating someone else as part of a con, mocking someone, or just making actors look convincing in an ad for his business.
She is always sunny and bubbly, taking jobs seriously, no matter how potentially criminal they might be. Even when she's in full cosplay and medieval regalia, she'll leave whatever she is doing to make some cash by making sure the actors look their best. But her shining moments often involve her putting her own acting classes to work and posing as everyone from a woman from Huell's hometown church to a TV reporter and even a waitress for Jimmy's cons.
sca
sca is the reluctant secretary for Jimmy, who worked previously with both him and Kim. When reuniting with him as Saul, she at first doesn't seem comfortable with some of the things he asks her to do, like impersonating other people on the phone. But she quickly warms to her position given the generous salary and autonomy.
One of the funniest moments is when Jimmy gives sca carte blanche to decorate the new office space and she goes all out with couches and classy décor to create a calming atmosphere. All her efforts are for naught, however, as she finds clients urinating in potted plants and snuffing out cigarettes on the couch handles. She is constantly questioning Jimmy but always ends up going along with his plans, often with a hilariously frustrated sigh.
Jesse
Jesse hasn't yet appeared on the show but it has been confirmed that he will the Breaking Bad characters to appear in Better Call Saul. Given his character on Breaking Bad, it's safe to assume that Jesse will easily rank among the funniest characters on the prequel series.
If the timeline fits, he would be a young man just out of high school, having never graduated. He will be spending his time selling drugs, drinking, playing video games, and eating junk food with his friends. It's likely that any interactions Jesse has with Saul during the timeline, even if they are only in ing, will have a hint of his signature humor to them.
Saul
From his desire to pull off ridiculous pranks and cons to his wild ideas to do things like sell burner phones to criminals, create cheesy ads to garner shady clients, and even get a fake tan and blonde hairdo to impersonate Howard, Jimmy always brings the laughs, even when he doesn't intend to.
Saul is always charming yet sleazy at the same time, able to convince just about anyone of anything. He will go to great lengths to pull off the impossible, from hiring grocery store employees to play look-a-likes in videos to saying silly things to try and make his stern brother laugh. He was funny on Breaking Bad and remains the funniest character on Better Call Saul.
