WARNING: This article contains SPOILERS for Better Call Saul season 6, episode 4
Mike's Kim line in the first time Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn) and Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) have come face to face with each other. While it may well be the only time they meet, Mike leaves Kim with some words that have much bigger implications for her character going forward - which could also hint at her eventual fate come Better Call Saul's end.
Though Mike and Kim had never met each other before Better Call Saul's "Hit And Run," their worlds began to collide as Jimmy became further involved in the crime world. This comes to a head in Better Call Saul season 5, episode 9, "Bad Choice Road," where Kim protects Jimmy from Lalo Salamanca, confirming Mike's earlier statement to Jimmy about her being "part of the game." That being said, Mike's line from "Hit and Run" seems to suggest that just because Kim is now part of a life that guarantees danger doesn't mean Mike intends to let that happen.
In Better Call Saul season 6's "Hit And Run," Mike makes his presence to Kim known by revealing that the men following her are his guys meant to keep an eye out if Lalo Salamanca (Tony Dalton) tries to come after her and Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk). When Kim asks why Mike told her and not Jimmy, he says that he believes she's "made of sterner stuff." By saying this, it's clear that Mike understands Kim's full potential and may be working to guarantee that her life is spared from any real danger.
Throughout Better Call Saul, Mike's biggest tragedy is that he has been forced into situations where he has tried and failed to protect close associates from death, with two prime examples being Werner (Rainer Bock) and Nacho (Michael Mando). By making his presence known to Kim, it proves that Mike fears the same could happen to her - and is working much harder to ensure that it doesn't as a result. With this in mind, Mike could very well be what keeps Kim from falling any further into danger as Jimmy begins to fully embrace his long-awaited Saul Goodman persona.
With Nacho's death, Better Call Saul season 6 has taken a dark and unpredictable turn. However, Mike's talk with Kim seems to suggest a cautious optimism regarding Kim's season 6 ending and may even point to where she could be during the events of Breaking Bad. While it will likely come at the cost of her relationship with Jimmy, it's comforting that Kim's finale may not end with her death after all, despite the bloody events of Better Call Saul season 6.
