Jimmy McGill and Kim Wexler, but this time there are some bigger potential problems for the pair. Across the course of Better Call Saul, Kim (Rhea Seehorn) has increasingly been drawn into Jimmy (Bob Odenkirk)'s way of thinking as a lawyer. While she generally tries to play everything by the book, she's come to realize that on occasion you've got to bend the rules a little in order to get the justice you seek.

So far, Jimmy and Kim have teamed-up on a few different jobs in Better Call Saul, both in and out of the courtroom. The pair swindled Ken Wins, a stock broker, into buying them expensive shots of tequila; Kim helped Jimmy pull off some trickery to keep Huell out of prison; and most recently, Jimmy pretended to be from the District Attorney's office so that one of Kim's clients would take the deal she'd secured rather than going to trial. The latest con from the pair, though, is the biggest they've attempted yet.

In Better Call Saul season 5, episode 4, "Namaste", Kim remains frustrated in her efforts to find justice for Mr. Acker, who Mesa Verde want to displace from his home so that they can build their call center on the land. So Kim turns to Jimmy - or rather, Saul Goodman. He goes to Mr. Acker's and gets hired as his lawyer, promising that he can help stick it to Mesa Verde and ensure that he gets to keep his home. It's a win-win for both parties: Kim gets to fight for what she believes is right, but cannot actually do herself; Jimmy gets to help Kim out, and secures himself a new client against a high profile firm. Once again, it seems like Kim and Jimmy will walk away victorious from their latest con, and the only people hurt will be those who deserve it, but this particular case carries a much greater risk for them - and especially Kim.

Better Call Saul Kim Wexler Mesa Verde

The likelihood is that the Mesa Verde vs Mr. Acker case is going to go to trial, not least because Saul Goodman, it likely won't take much for someone to put all the pieces together. Kevin and Paige at Mesa Verde certainly knew Chuck well, so it's possible they know what Jimmy looks like. On top of that, Kim's boss at Schweikart and Cokely, Richard Schweikart, has met Jimmy. If he takes any interest in the trial - and given it's a big case for their top client, there's a good chance - then he'd realize that Jimmy is representing the opposition. Knowing that Kim and Jimmy are a couple, that would raise some big questions about her actions - and that's before factoring in that she's already raised objections to what Mesa Verde is doing with the Acker lot.

It needs a couple of different pieces to come together, but this is perhaps the biggest risk Kim has taken yet with Jimmy on Better Call Saul. If the dots are connected, then that could have serious implications for her legal career at the very least, and that rather fits with what the show is doing. There's a constant push and pull between Jimmy and Kim, as she moves away but then can't help be drawn back in. This case blowing up in her face could make her go more fully one way or the other.
