of Big Brother excitement. In addition to the television episodes, fans can subscribe to the live feeds which will begin on premiere night at 9:30 p.m. PT/12:30 a.m. ET.
Although few details about Big Brother 24 have been released, viewers can expect to see Julie Chen Moonves back as host. There will once again be a live move-in, but no live audience. The cast will feature new houseguests with no returning cast . The grand prize, which was increased to $750,000 in season 23, appears to be the same for Big Brother 24.
The Big Brother 24 season kicks off on Wednesday, July 6 at 8 p.m. for a special 90-minute episode that will feature the live move-in. The Big Brother season finale will air on September 25, making the season 82 days long, which is on the shorter side for the show. After the premiere, the schedule will follow the usual Big Brother format of three hour-long episodes a week, but there are sometimes minor exceptions which may be announced throughout the season by Julie.
Big Brother 24 episode 2 will air on Sunday, July 10 at 8 p.m. The Sunday episodes usually feature the nomination ceremony along with all of the events leading up to it. This will be followed by episode 3 on Wednesday, July 13 at 8 p.m. The Wednesday episodes usually show the veto competition and ceremony. This leads into the 9 p.m. Thursday, July 14 episode, which should air the live eviction and Head of Household (HOH) competition. Occasionally, the Thursday night episode features a double eviction and sometimes is expanded to two hours. For endurance HOH competitions that can last long into the night, the results are available on the live feeds, but air on television on the Sunday night episode. The Big Brother schedule should then follow this Sunday 8 p.m. (nominations), Wednesday 8 p.m. (veto), Thursday 9 p.m. (eviction) cycle throughout July, August, and September until the final week when the schedule changes before the finale.
Although Big Brother has taught fans to "expect the unexpected," its schedule is predictable for long-time fans of the show and should not be too difficult for new viewers to get used to. Big Brother is the perfect way to spend the summer, following the houseguests through their journeys to the grand prize. Fans should get ready for 82 days of fierce competition, complicated alliances, and tons of fun.
Big Brother 24 premieres July 6 at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
