The It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia showrunner Rob McElhenney worked together to make the impossible come true: the FX sitcom “Gang” meeting the Abbott teachers. There were a million reasons why it shouldn’t have worked, but the crossover was a hit.
Aside from hidden Charlie Kelly learned how to read at Abbott Elementary. At the same time, the crossover protected the unique identities of both titles. Despite how unconventional a crossover may be, it could be a perfect odd couple with enough effort.
10 High Potential & Criminal Minds
Morgan And The Profilers Would Make An Interesting Team
Kaitlin Olson stole the show during the Abbott Elementary crossover, but her role as Morgan in High Potential would make an absurd addition to a different show. High Potential already reframed Kaitlin Olson’s image and showed her underutilized drama acting, but Morgan maintains a quirkiness that would work well in contrast to the darkly realistic world of Criminal Minds. There are multiple Criminal Minds characters that would have hilarious dynamics with Morgan.
High Potential (2024) has a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Morgan and Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) could bond over their genius, while Penelope (Kirsten Vangsness) would recognize the style and whimsy that makes Morgan such a force of nature. If the LAPD called in the BAU for a case, Morgan would leave the FBI agents floored by her disregard for protocol and colorful revelations. Whether Hotch (Thomas Gibson) throws her off the case or comes around to her kookiness, a High Potential & Criminal Minds crossover would be an unforgettable investigation.
9 Matlock & Suits
Fake Lawyers Recognize Their Own
2024’s Matlock has been successful for many reasons, but Kathy Bates would have the best run-in with Patrick J. Adams (Mike Ross) and Gabriel Macht (Harvey) from Suits. The titular Matlock, Madeline "Matty" Matlock/Kingston, is concealing her true identity and swindling a law firm in New York. At the beginning of Suits, Mike Ross concealed his true identity and swindled a law firm in New York.
Aside from the two fake lawyers (in different ways) surely recognizing the deception of the other, the stars from Suits could dramatically shake up Matty’s revenge plot.
Aside from the two fake lawyers (in different ways) surely recognizing the deception of the other, the stars from Suits could dramatically shake up Matty’s revenge plot. Mike could take pity on her and give her pointers on how to keep her story straight, or Harvey could blow her whole plan up to avoid repeating the same mistake. Madeline either gains two allies or enemies, but the New York Lawyer Cinematic Universe would collapse regardless.
8 9-1-1 & Guy’s Grocery Games
The Procedural Has Met Reality TV Royalty Before
Similar to when 9-1-1 responded to a call at the mansion from The Bachelor, the ABC procedural needs to meet another reality TV icon: Guy Fieri. One of his longest-running shows is Guy’s Grocery Games, a competition cooking show shot in California. From the jump, a cooking contest is a wacky emergency waiting to happen, and the 118 would be the perfect first responders to help.

One Forgotten 9-1-1 Character Is Eddie's Perfect 118 Replacement
9-1-1 season 8 left off on a midseason cliffhanger, but the ABC procedural is overlooking one prime candidate to potentially replace Eddie Diaz.
While the near-death experiences in 9-1-1 are memorable, Guy Fieri and his contestants would surely come out unscathed. To thank the team, the 118 could guest judge a fictional episode or even compete against each other on a special Firefighters episode. Bobby (Peter Krause) and Buck (Oliver Stark) would get way too invested.
7 St. Denis Medical & Grey’s Anatomy
The Medical Comedy And Medical Drama Couldn't Be More Different
The comically average crew at St. Denis Medical would be a hilarious foil to the high-drama hospital in Grey’s Anatomy. During the melodramatic scenes of doctors kissing in elevators or crying in the rain, the St. Denis Medical nurses would have the best reactions and stand in for the average viewer in the nighttime soap. Still, they could all work together and solve a rare medical mystery.
Even though Washington and Oregon are hours apart, Joyce (Wendi McLendon-Covey) would absolutely take the hospital on a field trip to the Grey’s Anatomy hospital. They could be there to tour a special facility or see a demo of a cutting-edge machine that St. Denis Medical wouldn’t be able to afford. To top it off, Josh Lawson’s Bruce would probably try to be the next McSteamy while he’s there.
6 Ghosts & Hamilton
Isaac And Hamilton Deserve A Reunion
Just like its UK predecessor, Ghosts on CBS includes spirits from various periods. One of the older souls is Isaac (Brandon Scott Jones), the ghost of a Revolutionary War captain. The fictional depiction of Alexander Hamilton from Lin Manuel Miranda’s musical would be a great addition to the haunted house, if only for a crossover episode.
The two men could commiserate over the circumstances of their deaths, with Isaac’s case of dysentery and Hamilton losing a duel against his rival, Leslie Odom Jr.’s Aaron Burr. Isaac could lament how he never got to make his mark on history, and Hamilton could— in true Hamilton fashion— brag about his achievements. It could come to a head with Isaac dueling Hamilton or perhaps ing him in a song.
5 Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage & Hannah Montana
Emily Osment Would Have The Best Of Both Worlds
Miley Cyrus appearing on Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage would be a reunion 14 years in the making. Emily Osment was a core member of the Hannah Montana cast, playing Hannah’s best friend, Lilly. Despite Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage taking place in the 90s, there are still ways to connect Hannah Montana to the sitcom.

5 Biggest Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage Questions That Need Answers In 2025
The Big Bang Theory franchise’s new show has attracted cult followers, but Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage has much to resolve when it returns.
ittedly, Cyrus couldn’t reprise her role because her fictional counterpart, Miley Stewart, had barely been born when the events of the second Big Bang Theory prequel take place. However, Cyrus could play a relative who’s interested in the music industry, just like Connor (Dougie Baldwin). Her experience in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage could start a ripple effect, leading Hannah Montana’s career to be all thanks to the Cooper-McAllisters.
4 Yellowstone & Fire Country
Cal-Fire Could Save The Dutton Family Ranch
Yellowstone may be ending after season 5, but the characters in the modern western will live on. An eccentric note to end on would be the Yellowstone cast running into the firefighters from Fire Country. The dramatic characters like Bode Donovan (Max Thieriot) or Vince Leone (Billy Burke) would fit right in with cowboy hats on their heads.
Thanks to its proximity to the eponymous Yellowstone National Park, the ranch would likely need the help of firefighters during a weather emergency. The park has an annual fire season with set fire management techniques, but Cal-Fire could make the trek over to help and run into the characters of Yellowstone. Traveling from Northern California to Montana wouldn’t exactly be a day trip, but when there’s a will, there’s a narrative way.
3 NCIS & Doctor Odyssey
A Cruise Ship Murder Could Fall Under NCIS Jurisdiction
Doctor Odyssey has already included multiple deaths on the ship in its pilot season, but the medical drama could attract the attention of a Major Case Response Team (MCRT) if a potential crime was related to the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. Doctor Odyssey could easily host nautical branches of the armed forces for one of its themed weeks. If something goes awry, the NCIS team could board the Odyssey to investigate.
There are already important questions for Doctor Odyssey to answer in 2025, but a new mystery could add intrigue and excitement to the procedural. Seeing the medical trio go toe-to-toe with the team could lead to tense interactions and dramatic clue-finding. Avery (Phillipa Soo), Tristan (Sean Teale), or Max (Joshua Jackson) could all be the ones to suddenly crack the case, helping NCIS bring the culprit to justice.
2 Happy's Place & The Conners
Emma Kenney Would Have Two Roles To Juggle
With the recent addition of Emma Kenney to Happy’s Place as Bobbie’s (Reba McEntire) daughter, Gracie, it lays the groundwork for an intricate crossover with Kenney’s other current TV role. Kenney has portrayed Harris Conner since 2018, beginning in Roseanne before spinoff The Conners began the same year. The cast of The Conners has included Kenney for all seven seasons.

5 References In The Abbott Elementary & It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia Crossover That Makes Season 17 More Exciting
The Abbott Elementary & It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia crossover had hilarious character interactions, but it hid callbacks in its witty writing.
The Conners could take a family trip to Tennessee and wind up in the titular tavern, Happy’s Place. Gracie could be visiting and come face to face with Harris Conner. While it wouldn’t be a full-on Parent Trap moment, having the characters interact could offer humorous one-liners and physical comedy. In a sweeter sense, it could also be symbolic of Kenney’s old role ing the torch to her new one.
1 Law & Order & Gossip Girl
New York's Finest Would Meet New York's Richest
Many would argue the cast of Gossip Girl should have met the New York Police Department (NYPD) on numerous occasions throughout the series. Whether the Upper East Side teens are the plaintiffs or defendants, detectives from any era of Law & Order would give the wealthy youths a rude awakening. The vapid, self-indulgent tone of Gossip Girl would clash wonderfully with the brutal, gritty setting of Law & Order.
With any luck, Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) would be hauled off to jail by the end of the Law & Order episode.
While Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) would likely hold her own in front of the NYPD investigators and stick to her story, Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) would probably fold under pressure and crack on the witness stand. With any luck, Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) would be hauled off to jail by the end of the Law & Order episode. Though the combination of teen drama and legal procedural is ridiculous at first glance, the Abbott Elementary & It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia crossover proved that no pairing is too out there.
