Some brand new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies content is dropping, headlined by the new Firebase Z map, according to a new release from Treyarch. This release comes after the Aethernaut poster teased some content related to Cold War's ongoing Zombies storyline, Dark Aether. The sci-fi and space themes that were teased on the Aethernaut poster also appear to be legitimate, based on the latest Treyarch weekly briefing.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has been insanely popular since it was released last November, particularly due to the upgraded Zombies mode. The newest iteration of the game features new game modes like Cranked, which puts players into a fast-paced mode where players must kill a zombie before a timer reaches zero. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War also cranked the Zombies mode to the next level by providing brand new maps, including their newest offering.
Per the latest Zombies map in the Dark Aether storyline, following the events of "Die Maschine." Treyarch teases that this new map will come with brand new enemies and a new Wonder Weapon to mow through the horde of Zombies.
Firebase Z is not the only new feature, though, as a new Zombies game mode, Dead Ops Arcade Solo Advanced Start mode. Players will be given an advanced starting position based on the highest round they achieved in Dead Ops Arcade 3 Solo and can earn the "Reunited with Fidolina" achievement. The update will also bring back the Tombstone Soda Perk from Call of Duty: Black Ops II. This will be available in both Firebase Z and Die Maschine. However, the Tombstone Soda Perk will work differently than before. It will no longer allow the player to regain the perks and guns they had before being dropped, but instead, turn them into shadows and allow them to revive themselves.
All of this new content is sure to bring players back from the Warzone, particularly the new Zombies map. The uncertain fate of Samantha Maxis will finally be revealed and the monsters on the other side of the Dark Aether portal will be exposed. Players can take the fight back to Omega Group and test their mettle when the event goes live. And, PlayStation players will also get to see Express the exclusive Onslaught map list alongside new Zombies intel that can be discovered in-game, once the update goes live.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is out now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
