Brand new Alexei Shostakov (David Harbour).
Black Widow's trailers have teased the Red Room and its trainees, things that have only been glimpsed at in one other Marvel film: will include a younger Natasha. Much of Natasha's past is a mystery, and fans are eager to learn more about who she was before she became an Avenger. It's likely the answers they're seeking will come from the Red Room itself, which won't let Natasha go quietly.
In a new image shared by final Black Widow trailer, these women are "manipulated... fully conscious, but no choices." Natasha seeks to free them all, but it doesn't look like it will be an easy task. In the second image, Natasha stands with Alexei and Yelena, possibly preparing for the battle to come. You can check them out in the space below:
In an interview with Empire, Johansson explained she wanted to give Natasha justice. She said, "It gave us this feeling like, ‘I’ve got one chance and I really want people to understand her and to feel empathy for her,’ because often what you see is a very fetishised construct. We wanted to get under her skin." One person who might definitely get under her skin is Taskmaster, the masked leader of the Red Room who can mimic the fighting style of anyone he watches. studied her and the other Avengers.
As of right now, Black Widow is only a month and a half away, though concerns regarding the coronavirus outbreak could push the film back. Until that time, however, Black Widow is set for release on May 1. The film has set the stage for an interesting fight, as Natasha is one of the best assassins to emerge from the Red Room program and now she wants to tear it apart. That should make for a very compelling conflict, and fans cannot wait to see it unfold.
