Todd Chavez is perhaps the purest, gentlest, and the most humane character in the recently concluded wholesome goodness. Not a day goes by when we don’t miss Todd’s seemingly fresh, but absolutely unmarketable ideas for new businesses, his red hoodie and his good vibes. Todd has tried his hands at a lot of career paths, from writing his own rock opera, to building his own Disneyland, and he has even worked for Quentin Tarantino. Surely, a resume like that could open a lot of doors for him, and that’s what we’re here to investigate!

What would be an ideal job for Todd? Somewhere where his out-of-the-box ideas are truly appreciated, where he has access to pancakes 24/7, and of course a safe, non-toxic work environment where he could show up in his red hoodie and beanie. On a serious note, we feel like there are so many new-age millennial career paths he could pursue.

Party Planner

Todd and BoJack.

Let’s look at history, Todd already has a deep knowledge of how to throw a Quinceañera (from when he threw a bash for the teen daughter of a cartel lord), so clearly he knows all the best party stores. He has access to BoJack’s sick LA pad. He already has the improv skills so he himself can be the entertainer at the party. He has a discerning personal taste bud - when he ordered pizza, put ‘happy pills’ on them and washed it down with vermouth and ice cream float? If you ask us, that’s a party! Plus, unlike a regular event planner, he doesn’t get stressed out and get on everyone’s nerves, and if things go south or the caterer doesn’t show up, he can always make everyone chocolate chip pancakes.

A Sustainability Expert

Todd has always been the sustainability guru and we never noticed it; his drone throne and all other low-cost efficient ideas? The series may have dismissed them as useless, but who knows how effective they might have been in the post-Thunberg age where zero-waste goals are everything? Sustainability gurus are responsible for creating products which will basically usher in the low-energy future, and something tells us Todd is meant to do this. He’s clearly all about thinking out of the box and can implement even the craziest of ideas and quite literally makes the wildest dreams come true, and that’s someone we want to trust with our future.

A Fashion Week Correspondent

We can think of nobody better than Todd to sit FROW at Marc Jacobs and Balmain runway shows and rub shoulders with Kardashian-Jenners and Karlie Kloss at the after-party. He can clearly handle high-pressure situations and can juggle several problems at once.

But fashion week journalism also needs a lot of other skills like attending 7-8 shows a day, nailing the fashion memo, sitting next to Anna Wintour without fainting, reporting back every little detail without bias or judgement, and we really think Todd would ace a Paris Fashion Week stint (is Ms Wintour listening?). We can easily see him trading in his red hoodie for a monochrome one by Virgil Abloh.

Airbnb Host

What’s the most common complaint we usually have against Airbnb hosts? They are unlikeable, sometimes they ‘mom’ you and lecture you about water bills, and last but not the least, you don’t like the place. Now, imagine you walk into an Airbnb and discover your host is the low-maintenance and always likeable Todd Chavez… if you ask us, we’d be elated. The bnb is of course, BoJack’s LA home, Todd can and will whip you up pancakes every morning and will know the best places for pizza. And something tells us if you want to jump up and down in the couch or play Scrabble till 4 am, you'll always find company.

Social Media Consultant For The Kardashians

Todd Chavez at work in BoJack Horseman

You know how sometimes Kim Kardashian West or Kylie Jenner post something almost too fabulous to be on Instagram? As much as we love them, we do want their posts to be somewhat more relatable ( Kylie’s matching cars?), and a tad less outrageous. And there’s only one person we know who knows how to keep things grounded, and it’s Todd.

He’s rubbed shoulders with almost every important showbiz person and still has a ton of relatability and can totally be the social media planner for the Kardashians and help them connect better with their fan base. And he’s the only person we know who can handle the high-pressured job of curating a Kardashian’s Instagram page. Plus, we have a feeling he’s get along fabulously with Kris!

Creative Producer At Netflix

BoJack Horseman Season 6 Todd

We’ve all had those moments when we’ve paused our Netflix browsing to think, ‘who’d actually make a show on this?’ Monty Don's Italian Gardens? That’s delightfully weird and comforting! And that’s right up Todd’s alley. Todd is a treasure trove of quirky, interesting ideas, and is always brainstorming things no one else would even think about. his cupcake-shooting gun? Or the churro-flavored waffles? Todd does his best work when he’s not over-thinking at all! Granted most of his ideas are food-related, but Netflix could always use more bacon and kettle corn-related documentaries and we need someone to get him an interview at their LA office.

Patent Holder To The Bagel Catcher

As soon as social distancing is over and we’re back to our normal grind, we’ll desperately need our commute bagels. And something that we’ve always been curious about is Todd’s singularly brilliant bagel-catcher idea. The show never really went into a lot of detail about what the catcher did, or how it was built.

So, for all we know it could be a human catcher in an oven mitt just standing over your shoulder to catch your bagel from your barista. But we’ll leave the details to Mr. Chavez; all we know is that our morning bagels need a new toaster-to-mouth delivery system and Todd seems to have the answer.

Chief Listening Officer

Todd sits on BoJack's shoulders in BoJack Horseman.

No, we’re not making that up. It’s a job that exists and has got Todd written all over it. Sure, the job caters to a very specific marketing niche, where experts help their clients optimize solutions so that they can be better sellers. But if Todd was your CLO, you know you could totally rant about your day to him. He spent years just listening to BoJack and the entire crew just dumping their problems on him, sometimes quite selfishly (if we may add). And though Todd doesn’t mind taking a load off of people’s minds, he clearly needs to make some dough out of it and at least a 401K.

A Divorce Lawyer

Divorce lawyers get such bad rap - although some of them can be really nasty, and Marriage Story’s Laura Dern isn’t the best poster girl. We feel like the Divorce Lawyer’s Association (if there’s such a thing) could really use a friendly, likeable, chill dude like Todd to represent them. ‘You don’t get along with your wife? Cool, just don’t live with her. You want the dog? No problem, buy her a dog too! There should be more dogs everywhere!’ We feel like Todd could really bring out the humane, and moral side of the profession. And we have a feeling BoJack will need his help sooner or later.

Food Critic

BoJack Horseman s4e5 Thoughts and Prayers

Why do we always picture the sardonic and judgmental Anton Ego from Ratatouille whenever we think of a food critic? That’s because some food critics really are that intense and glum. We know Todd loves eating - from ice cream sandwiches to spaghetti, he’ll eat anything without complaints. And we do need more forgiving food critics who do not criticize every single speck of lamb and maybe let the salty salmon go once in a while. If not in some major newspaper, he could always open up his own Instagram page and maybe monetize his adventurous taste buds! We know want him to reviews some of our favorite food trucks!
