After an appearance by Din Djarin in episode 5, will Grogu be in Baby Yoda a.k.a. Grogu a core element. The Child's surprise appearance in the premiere immediately made him a fan-favorite character that audiences can't get enough of.
However, The Mandalorian season 2 finale set up a very different future for Grogu, Din Djarin, and others. It was in the finale's post-credits scene that The Book of Boba Fett was announced as the first The Mandalorian spinoff show. Through the first four episodes of the series, there wasn't much crossover between the two shows beyond a few Easter eggs. That changed in a big way with The Book of Boba Fett episode 5, "The Return of The Mandalorian." The nearly hour-long episode caught viewers up to what Din Djarin has been up to since The Mandalorian season 2's ending, showing him reuniting with other Mandalorians, getting a new ship, and planning a Grogu reunion.
Just as The Book of Boba Fett episode 4's ending teased an appearance by Din Djarin, episode 5 ended with a rather overt tease of a Grogu appearance. Din says that he will help Boba Fett fight the Pyke Syndicate free of charge but that he must pay a visit to "a little friend." With that line of dialogue, a Grogu appearance could be in store for The Book of Boba Fett episode 6.
Where Is Grogu During The Book Of Boba Fett?
It is important to when The Book of Boba Fett takes place in relation to The Mandalorian. The new Disney+ show is set almost immediately after the events of season 2, and Din's appearance in episode 5 reinforces that. He is without Grogu because the future Jedi is with Luke Skywalker, who Grogu ed through the Force in The Mandalorian season 2. It isn't known exactly where Grogu, Luke Skywalker, and R2-D2 went after the finale, so Baby Yoda's precise location during The Book of Boba Fett isn't known yet.
Will Grogu Appear In The Book Of Boba Fett Episode 6?
Based on the tease in The Book of Boba Fett episode 5, it certainly seems that Grogu will be in episode 6. The series directly teases audiences with the appearance of Baby Yoda, so there will be some disappointment if he ultimately didn't appear. The only potential reason for Grogu to be left of The Book of Boba Fett episode 6 is if Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni want to save Din and Grogu's reunion for The Mandalorian season 3. However, it happening in next week's episode could allow the dynamic duo to be together throughout the next season.
