The golden keys obtained from entering Shift codes can be used at a chest in Sanctuary to unlock special new guns otherwise unobtainable. Players will want to follow Randy Pitchford's Twitter for the most recent codes. Below is an example of what one of his Shift Code posts may look like. As players will see, the code for 3 Golden Keys was posted on January 22nd and quickly expired on January 25th. Randy Pitchford co-founded Gearbox Software in 1999 and currently sits as the President and Executive Officer of the Company.
Thankfully, players can set Randy's to send them notifications whenever he posts a new tweet. While it may not be Shift Code-related, Borderlands fans will still be entertained by his news and updates. However, they won't have to constantly check their Twitter feeds for new codes as the notifications will keep them up-to-date.
Borderlands 3 will continue to a few major DLC packages planned for the coming year. One, in particular, The Director's Cut is due in the spring of 2021. The Director's Cut will be gameplay focused, and include additional missions, end-game content, and behind-the-scenes extras! Borderland's 3 will also work to make good on its promise of crossplay in the coming year.
While players wait for these major updates, they'll be kept entertained by various in-game events. Borderlands' last major update came in the form of its move to Next-Gen.
