Warning: This contains SPOILERS for Boruto #75Ever since his debut, Amado has rubbed the Boruto fan base the wrong way. His work with Jigen and Kara automatically marked him as a villain, but at the same time his efforts to take down Jigen and frustrate Kara's objectives made him the type of villain even criminals dislike. But, perhaps what made him the most suspect with fans was the lack of information about his background and true motives. This made him completely untrustworthy as a villain or even an anti-hero. However, recent revelations more than prove that Amado is, without a doubt, the most devious person in Naruto's universe.
Boruto Chapter 75 has the most detailed information about Amado's background yet, and it was eye-opening. Fans had known for a while that he had a daughter and her death was not only traumatic for him, but also facilitated his initial decision to and assist Kara. However, without the details of his daughter's death, there were more than a few theories about it, such as that her death was somehow caused by Kara's leader Jigen. Another theory argued her death was somehow linked to the entire ninja community, hence his efforts to destroy all ninja. As Chapter 75 reveals, however, those theories were wrong. Rather, the basis and energy that powers Amado's actions is simply his quest to resurrect his daughter, who died of an incurable illness.
While it isn't hard to sympathize with the pain and loss that Amado experienced after the death of his daughter, what is inexcusable is how he decides to deal with his grief. While Jigen's promise to help him resurrect his daughter is an offer few parents in the same situation as Amado would be able to refuse; he crossed the line when he agreed to experiment on abducted and bought children to find the perfect match to be Isshiki Otsutsuki's vessel. Even worse is the fact that he has shown little if any remorse that most of the children died as a result of the experiments. In other words, Amado is Naruto's most despicable villain because, despite suffering the pain of his own daughter's death, Amado is willing to inflict the same pain on other parents, as long as it leads to the eventual return of his own daughter.
Amado's Selfishness Is The Root Of His Evil
Despite any good that he may have done, and there's a reasonable argument that he hasn't done anything good, Amado's willingness to calmly and coldly torture and kill children in order to deal with his own personal loss makes him the most dangerous type of evil person. The level of his evil was hidden largely because no one other than Jigen knew his background and motivations. Now that the curtain has been lifted, it should be clear to fans that he is officially eviler than any Naruto threat.
In of what is happening in Boruto, it is imperative that Naruto and Shikamaru realize who they are dealing with and take his words, and promises lightly. If they needed any pause to continue to suspect his actions, Amado told them directly that despite all that has happened, he still has not given up his efforts to bring his daughter back. The fact that he was willing to use children to accomplish this goal in Boruto says that he'll do whatever he feels necessary to bring his daughter back, making him Naruto's most despicable villain.
Boruto is now available from Viz Media.
