Warning: SPOILERS for Boruto chapter #75

the other of Kara that have completely upset the power balance in the series. Chapter #75 reveals that Kara's scientist, Amado, created these powers by transplanting into Kara's the DNA of a god, Shibai Ohtsutsuki.

One of the most controversial aspects of Boruto is that the villains of the series have out-of-scale power levels compared to even the strongest characters in Naruto. Some of the abilities showcased by Kara make almost no sense, even after the leader of the group, Isshiki Ohtsutsuki, was defeated. Eida's power of making anyone fall in love with her at first sight could easily be used to rule the world, along with her eye that can see anything in the present and in the past. Daemon's ability to reflect even the intention of an attack against his enemies makes him simply unbeatable. Now, the manga has explained where all these overpowered abilities come from.

In chapter #75 of Boruto, Amado explains that he did not create these abilities. He harvested the DNA from the remains of Shibai Ohtsutsuki, a member of the Ohtsutsuki clan who managed to evolve into a god, leaving behind his mortal coils. When he was alive, Shibai's incredible power developed Shinjutsu, the progenitor of ninja arts and sage arts, which was essentially an array of godlike abilities. Amado extracted Shibai's DNA and implanted it into Eida, Daemon, and Code (and perhaps other of Kara), which made them acquire specific Shinjutsu.

The Ohtsutsuki Are The Source Of Every Special Power In Naruto And Boruto

The Ohtsutsuki are aliens, who colonize and consume planets by harvesting the "Chakra Fruit", seen in Naruto's final battle, which lets them absorb of the life energy of a world. Through this process, they keep evolving and becoming more powerful and advanced life forms. According to Amado, Shibai was the only Ohtsutsuki who completed this process, transcending into a new form of existence. While this explanation for Eida and Daemon's abilities may seem outrageous, it actually makes sense to connect every special power in the world of Naruto to the Ohtsutsuki. It was already revealed in Naruto that the ninja and sage arts were developed first by the sons of Kaguya, the first Ohtsutsuki to appear in the series, so this new information simply adds another piece to that puzzle.

It was about time for Boruto to reveal the origins of the powers that have completely upset its story, but this does not solve the big issue with these abilities. Eida and Daemon are simply too overpowered, and their presence creates major plot problems. Now that the source of their abilities has been revealed, perhaps the next step for Boruto will be to expose their weaknesses and effectively counter these absolutely broken powers.
