Warning: Spoilers for Boruto: Naruto Next Generations chapter 75Overcritical fans may have rejoiced when Boruto tamed the powerful abilities of the series' most OP character, Daemon. However, recent events prove that he may not have had his power reduced as much as some fans had thought.

When Daemon was originally introduced in chapter 59 of Boruto, he came in a blaze of glory, having to contend with many security personnel who had been tasked with eliminating him. But despite the odds appearing stacked against him, Daemon didn't really have to try all that hard, effortlessly reflecting every attack made against him without having to come into physical with his assailants. So fans were rightly shocked when a lower-level Kara member named Bug retconned Daemon's earlier victory by claiming a few chapters later that Boruto's Daemon can only unlock his reflection capabilities when his hands are touching the person whose attack he wishes to reflect.

But Daemon's creator Amado disproves the theory that Boruto randomly reduced Daemon's power when he gives a true rundown of Daemon's abilities in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations chapter 75 by creator and supervisor Masashi Kishimoto, artist Mikio Ikemoto and scriptwriter Ukyo Kodachi. In addition to revealing that Daemon's reflection skill can be transferred to the person touching him, Amado adds that any murderous intent directed at him can be redirected back, a claim that Kawaki learns for himself when he tests it out.

Amado's Explanation of Daemon's Powers Prove Boruto Didn't Nerf Him

Amado tells the full rundown of Daemon's true powers in Boruto chapter 75

The irony is that readers took Bug at his word even though he's obviously a low-level Kara member whose only purpose was to make readers feel sorry for him. It's also ironic that readers already learned about the "killing intent" portion of Daemon's power. Daemon's "killing intent" ability is only new to the ninjas who are currently listening to Amado. In chapter 59 of Boruto, Daemon's sister Eida confirmed that a foe who pictures themselves killing Daemon will cause the actual scene in their head to transpire against them. That's why Daemon didn't have to touch his opponents, they were imagining themselves killing Daemon. Amado's explanation in chapter 75 further demonstrates Bug's limited knowledge of Daemon because Bug only mentioned the condition Daemon must meet to deflect an actual attack. He failed to include one critical weakness, that Daemon's powers will transfer to the person touching him. The fact that Bug mentioned Daemon's condition to Code when Code was battling Daemon means that Bug was undoubtedly hoping that Code would defeat or survive against Daemon, and if Bug had known of this weakness, he would have immediately divulged these critical details since it would have led to the end result he wanted.

Regardless, this latest revelation not only proves that Boruto's creators didn't just try to quietly retcon a previous attack and hope that no one would notice, but that they are actually quite nuanced writers, realizing that not everything a character says has to be true because many people lie or just don't know the whole truth. Even though Boruto has its faults, hopefully, readers will come to trust its creators and realize that maybe, just maybe, they know what they're doing.
