The latest spin-off to the police procedural drama The Walking Dead alumnus Madison Lintz and The Rapture actress Mimi Rogers.
Other returning and new stars have similarly had diverse careers on TV with credits ranging from comedies like Mayans M.C. All in all, audiences have enough viewing options to spot a large chunk of the Bosch: Legacy ensemble.
Titus Welliver - Lost (2004-2010)
Before he embraced the role of LAPD detective-turned-investigator Harry Bosch, Titus Welliver had been a staple on mainstream TV with important roles in Lost, Sons of Anarchy. Welliver might show his acting chops as a leading man but he proved that he is equally proficient in playing the bad guy as the "Man in Black" in Lost.
Initially appearing as a cloud of smoke and then in a fuller human form, Welliver stole the show as the primary antagonist in the iconic episodes of Lost. Starting off on an island filled with survivors of a plane crash and transitioning between the flashbacks of each character, Lost serves as both a survival tale and a genre-bending mix of fantasy and sci-fi.
Madison Lintz - The Walking Dead (2010-)
LAPD Officer Maddie Bosch walks in the same footsteps as her father and serves as a main character even in the spin-off. Before her work on Bosch: Legacy, 22-year-old actress Madison Lintz's claim to fame was with The Walking Dead character Sophia Peletier. Even though Lintz appears for only eight episodes, her involvement in the show is crucial to the plot up to the second season.
Suffering from child abuse and then surviving the zombie apocalypse, Sophia is rescued by the protagonists only to be killed later as she herself turns into a zombie. Based on the comic series of the same name, The Walking Dead is the long-running zombie survival series that not only deals with the conflicts between humans and the "walkers" but also the internal clashes among groups of surviving humans themselves.
Mimi Rogers - The Rapture (1991)
Mimi Rogers, the actress playing civil rights attorney Honey "Money" Chandler in Bosch: Legacy, has previously appeared in recurring roles in The X-Files. However, her most acclaimed stint might be the lead role in the religious drama The Rapture.
As the title suggests, the movie is set in the midst of a real-life rapture of Biblical proportions. Rogers plays a woman who engages in constant debauchery until she gets convinced of the impending doom. Wishing to depart to heaven, the protagonist becomes a born-again Christian and a series of chaotic events unfold. Because of its unique exploration of faith and Rogers' conviction in essaying the multiple moods of the heroine, The Rapture is one of the great religious satires of recent times.
Michael Rose - Loki (2021-)
Carl Rogers, the millionaire involved in sketchy dealings, was played by Max E Williams in Bosch's original run. However, in Bosch: Legacy, Michael Rose has replaced Williams even though the character still remains the same.
Outside the show, Rose has appeared in a brief role in Loki as a wealthy enger on the train in which Loki and Sylvie travel undercover. The Disney+ MCU series deals with the time-traveling misadventures of Loki, the god of mischief, as he has a change of heart from his usual chaos. Interestingly, Rose also appeared in an unaired pilot for a Wonder Woman TV series that was planned for 2011. This makes him one of the few actors who have appeared in both Marvel and DC properties.
Stephen A. Chang - Captain Marvel (2019)
Bosch has all the skills required for good deduction and investigation but the ex-LAPD cop does need some technical know-how which is provided by Stephen A Chang's Mo Bassi.
Chang has also been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a brief role as a Cadet Officer in Brie Larson's superhero movie Captain Marvel. Set in the 1990s, the Phase Three entry in the MCU deals with an intergalactic war between alien races and pilot-turned-Avenger Carol Danvers' role in preventing it. The movie also drew praise from ing actors such as Samuel L Jackson (who reprised his role as Nick Fury), Ben Mendelsohn, and Annette Bening.
Denise G. Sanchez - Mayans M.C. (2018-)
Reina Vasquez, the uptight trainee officer working alongside Maddie Bosch, is portrayed by Denise G Sanchez who has enjoyed earlier popularity with her recurring role in the Mayans M.C. cast.
In the spin-off to Sons of Anarchy, Sanchez plays a single mother named Alicia who often comes to aid of the titular biker gang. Much like the original show it spawned out of, Mayans M.C. is a crime drama that deals with the camaraderie and internal clashes with a group of outlaws as they evade the legal system and their own rival gangs.
Phil Morris - Doom Patrol (2019-)
All set to appear as the head of a security company in Bosch: Legacy, Phil Morris is one of the most familiar actors in the cast. Apart from playing Jackie Chiles in Doom Patrol.
The latter deals with a ragtag bunch of superheroes who bond due to shared trauma. With each member gaining superpowers out of a distressing accident, the ensemble is a cynically funny group unlike the Teen Titans or the Justice League. Morris s the cast as Silas Stone, father of the cybernetic hero Cyborg who serves as one of the show's primary protagonists.
William Devane - 24 (2001-2010)
Two-time Emmy nominee William Devane plays a millionaire who hires Bosch to find out if he has a heir. It is this quest for a mysterious heir that leads Bosch down a dark rabbit hole.
Devane has mostly appeared in films and shows in "authority roles" as government and military officials. For instance, in all the episodes of 24 that he appeared in, he played Secretary of Defense (later President) James Heller. With each season set in the entirety of one day, 24 is an engaging crime thriller that stars Keifer Sutherland as anti-terrorist agent Jack Bauer as he sets out to prevent national and international conspiracies before it is too late.
Kate Burton - Big Trouble In Little China (1986)
Ida Porter, the extremely faithful secretary to William Devane's Whitney Vance, is played by Kate Burton whom 80s movie junkies would as the news reporter Margo in Big Trouble in Little China.
Regarded as one of the best John Carpenter movies, Big Trouble In Litte China finds the horror veteran playing around with the martial arts genre and combining it with comedy and fantasy elements. With usual collaborator Kurt Russell in the lead role, the movie deals with an ancient battle between good and evil set in the midst of San Francisco's underworld.
Steven Flynn - Justified (2010-2015)
Vance's head of security is played by Steven Flynn, the character actor who had previously guest-starred in a few episodes of the neo-Western Justified.
Starring Timothy Olyphant as the U.S. Marshall of a beatdown town, the series finds the man enforcing his own brand of law as new criminal elements emerge. Flynn plays Emmitt Arnett, a shotcaller for a local mafia outfit, appearing as a recurring character in the first three seasons. Interestingly, Justified is also receiving a Bosch: Legacy-like sequel series soon as reported by Deadline early this year.
