Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) as they take on Vought and its powerful Supes team, The Seven.

The Boys has been busy filming season 3 for the last few months in Canada, but the cast has started to expand recently. Viewers are already quite looking forward to the debut of Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, who was teased throughout season 2. It was recently announced, though, that three new Supes were cast for season 3, including Sean Patrick Flanery as Gunpowder. Now, The Boys season 3 has added another significant character from Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson's comics.

According to Variety, Holden has been cast in The Boys season 3 in a recurring role. That role is said to be Crimson Countess, a fellow Supe who also has ties to Soldier Boy in the comics. Holden is best known for her role as Andrea in the first three seasons of The Walking Dead. She's also appeared in projects like The AmericansThe X-Files, and Dragged Across Concrete. It is not confirmed how many episodes Holden will appear in as Crimson Countess.

Crimson Countess is mostly known as a spoof on Scarlet Witch, although her powers aren't as expansive as Wanda Maximoff's. Instead, they include flight and heat generation. The Boys already confirmed Crimson Countess exists in its universe in season 1, as Starlight (Erin Moriarty) thought she could take the open spot on The Seven. Crimson Countess' role in The Boys season 3 could be tied to Soldier Boy, as the original version of her was a member of his World War II super-team, Payback. In the present-day story of the comics, she eventually has a deadly encounter with Billy Butcher.

It is already confirmed that The Boys season 3 will explore Soldier Boy's origin and his days with Payback. Holden's Crimson Countess could be tied to this storyline and be one of Soldier Boy's teammates. Since The Boys has established that Compound V can prolong the life span of an individual, the show could also use slowed aging to keep Holden involved in the main story of season 3. Now that the casting is announced, hopefully it won't be long before the first look at Holden in the Crimson Countess costume is released.
