Homelander will be doing a media tour to cover all of his bases after making a less-than-stellar dating decision (i.e. Stormfront, a rampant white supremacist) in The Boys season 2. There's a year-long gap between the seasons, during which not much has happened. Though Homelander states that he's been "getting in touch with himself." Whatever that means, it certainly can't be a good thing, as he's now determined to show people "the real" me.
Billy Butcher is working for the government now, under Hughie of all people, so that dynamic is sure to be fraught with tension. Queen Maeve has moved over to Billy's side and gifts him with a variant of Compound V, which will turn anyone into a Supe for 24 hours. Butcher is seen sporting laser eyes and is sure to wreak some bloody havoc now he's equally powerful. It's also discovered that there's a superweapon capable of destroying Supes. Hughie and Butcher want to get their hands on this as soon as possible, but it also leads them back to the original Supe, Soldier Boy. Now that Homelander has officially flown off the hinges, The Boys season 3 is set to take people on a gory journey, filled with betrayal, secret plans, and a new Supe group in the form of the Payback team. Crimson Countess, a source material mainstay, is seen disintegrating people with a wave of her hands. The show is not about to let up anytime soon.
