Vought News Network has provided Victoria Neuman, the congresswoman and secret supe who orchestrated a campaign against Vought before assassinating the Church of the Collective's cult leader, Alastair Adana. The Herogasm event has already been confirmed, and new cast additions include Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles), Little Nina (Katia Winter), Gunpowder (Sean Patrick Flannery), Blue Hawk (Nick Wechsler), Supersonic (Miles Gaston Villanueva), and Crimson Countess (Laurie Holden).

To prepare viewers for the season, Amazon has released a spoof news show under the title "Vought News Network: Seven on 7 with Cameron Coleman." A fairly transparent parody of Fox News, the right-leaning host runs through all the latest goings-on in Vought's superhero world. The stories reveal useful tidbits that transpired following The Boys' season 2 finale, providing updates on major characters and hinting at future stories.

Firstly, Dawn of the Seven" release is getting controversial, almost certainly due to Stormfront's role in the fictional movie. Season 3 set photos confirmed a movie premiere would happen, so the movie will see the light of day in The Boys, but perhaps not without some hasty edits.

VNN Alastair in The Boys

Blindspot is probably dead after Homelander's attack in The Boys season 2. The blind supe auditioned for the Seven in last season's premiere, only to be punched in the ears by Homelander. The amount of blood suggested all was not well, and VNN's official word is that Blindspot has gone "missing" after a mission in Argentina. The teaser then airs a mock "Our Sheet" commercial, which directly references Donald Trump, thereby confirming right-wing nationalism will remain a target of satire in The Boys season 3. The ad contains a neat milk reference too. Hughie has been appointed Neuman's senior analyst. Jack Quaid's character was seen asking for a job at the end of season 2, but his appointment has proven controversial due to his record as a Butcher associate. Alastair's death hasn't gone public, since VNN mention only that the Church of the Collective's leader has been unusually quiet. This means Neuman either disposed of the headless body, or the Church don't want the news getting out. Finally, Starlight is still being marketed as a popstar following her early success singing the Translucent tribute song.

By far the most important item in the teaser is Homelander's self-imposed exile. When the milkman found himself in a tough spot previously, he'd approach the problem with bluster and rage, always relying on stellar PR to overcome obstacles. Barricading himself indoors suggests The Boys has a very different Homelander in store for season 3, and this could swing a number of different ways. Perhaps Homelander's recent run of bad luck has made him even more unhinged, or maybe losing Ryan will finally convince the supe to change his ways. It's also possible that Vought are the ones keeping Homelander hidden, ashamed of the trouble their star asset has created. If so, the board is neatly aligned for Soldier Boy to steal Homelander's thunder as America's new (old) patriot.

More VNN videos are on the way ahead of The Boys season 3, and the format is certainly an innovative way to bridge the gap. In future installments, we might even hear which supes have found themselves on the wrong end of a government-sponsored Billy Butcher beating.
