The Boys take on The Seven, Vought, and anything in between will always be a treat to watch.

a brilliant character who is a genuine treat to watch on-screen.

That being said, it's not like her character is fully fleshed out — there are still pressing questions surrounding this character that haven't been answered yet.

How Did No One On The Flight Text Or Inform Someone About Homelander And Maeve?

Homelander and Maeve watch the plane crash

The scene in the hijacked airplane when Homelander essentially abandons a group of helpless civilians is one of the most hard-hitting scenes in Season 1... but it's hard to deny that it is somewhat rife with plot holes.

The plane was dipping and near civilization — given the fact that the wreckage was unearthed without any issues — so there should've been a network in some cellphones at least. If that's the case, then why did nobody on the plane inform their family or friends about how much of a monster Homelander was?

How Does She Manage To Secure A Video From The Flight Incident?

Queen Maeve with Homelander

Another aspect that makes no sense about the flight incident is that pretty much everything in the flight was destroyed when it crashed... but Maeve somehow managed to secure a video of what happened anyway.

How was this video footage preserved in the first place, and why is Maeve the only person who has a copy of it?

Why Didn't She Just Tell Elena The Truth, Given Their History?

The Boys Queen Maeve Elena

Elena and Maeve enjoyed a pretty interesting dynamic in Season 2... until Elena found the video of her girlfriend and Homelander abandoning a bunch of helpless people as they crashed to their doom.

All of this could've been avoided if Maeve had just been upfront with Elena. While it's true that she feared for her girlfriend's life, surely keeping her in the dark and still meeting her was a risk regardless?

How Did Stopping A Bus Permanently Damage Her Arm?

Queen Maeve in The Boys

Early on in her superhero career, Maeve stopped an out-of-control school bus and saved a bunch of children... but she didn't come out scot-free — her arm was severely broken, and still has some damage to this day.

This begs the question — how fast and powerful was this school bus? After all, it's demonstrated and proven that Maeve can deal with the blow of an entire armored truck hitting her without any issues, so how did a school bus injure her while this truck didn't?

Did She Ever Have Any Feelings For Homelander?

It's been revealed that Homelander and Maeve used to be together at one point. While she's clearly afraid of him in the present scenario, was there ever a time when this wasn't the case?

After all, Maeve was also naive at one point, and getting attention from Homelander could've been enough to swoon her... before she realized just how much of a monster he really was.

Was Her Relationship With Homelander Just A Front To Keep Her Sexual Orientation A Secret?

Queen Maeve And Homelander Waving

Another reason as to why Queen Maeve might've been in a relationship with Homelander could be to keep the facade up that she's straight.

Of course, this image is completely shattered when Homelander pulls the rug out from under her in front of everyone and reveals her sexual orientation.

Why Didn't This Relationship Come Into The Limelight When She Was Forced Out Of The Closet?

Queen Maeve Speaking To Homelander in The Boys

With the information that Maeve is not straight, it was only a matter of time before her relationship with Homelander would also be brought up as a topic of discussion by the press... or so one might think.

Instead, there's not even a single mention of this relationship at all, which is somewhat odd. Wouldn't the press want to know about Maeve's point of view, given the new information that came to light?

Why Didn't She Stand Her Ground And Prevent Vought From Exploiting This Reveal?

The Boys Dawn Of The Seven Movie With Agent Pearson Queen Maeve and Ruby The Hacker

It's not like Queen Maeve is under Vought's thumb — if anything, she's one of the oldest superheroes in The Seven, which has to count for something.

So, the idea of Vought essentially using her as a PR tool after she was outed by Homelander makes her look extremely weak. She should definitely have the power to tell Vought to cancel the entire thing, at least.

Is She Really All That Jaded And Cynical After Being In The Seven For So Long?

Queen Maeve

This ive attitude to whatever Vought does might be somewhat befitting of Queen Maeve's character — given the fact that she's faced The Seven and their atrocities for so long — but it does seem like a quitter's attitude, and something like that ideally shouldn't be in a person who made it to The Seven.

Just look at Starlight — Vought and The Seven do everything in their power to break her spirit, but she maintains a rebellious attitude and pushes everyone into a corner. Was it really so hard for Maeve to connect to this attitude, given the fact that she also used to be naive like Starlight at one point?

How Does She Find Out About The Cabin At The End Of Season 2?

Annie aka Starlight talks to Queen Maeve in bathroom in The Boys

The finale of Season 2 features The Boys trying to secure Ryan and Becca so that they can be whisked to safety. The plan is smooth sailing for the most part... that is, until both Stormfront and Homelander complicate things.

Thankfully, Queen Maeve comes right in the nick of time to save the day... but how? She'd already rejected Starlight's offer before, and — short of following Starlight right after she'd turned down her proposal, which is highly unlikely — she had no idea where the cabin was, to begin with.
