There's a reason that Breaking Bad is known as one of the greatest television shows and that is down to the amazing cast of characters that are part of the series. The cast isn't huge in comparison to other popular shows like Game Of Thrones or Mad Men, but that meant that all the characters really got time to develop their personalities.

While everyone on the series certainly had their flaws, they also had real positives. It was one of the shows that brought the anti-hero to the forefront of television, making people that would traditionally be villains very likeable. But which of the characters on this hit series were the most likeable of all?

Todd Alquist

When it comes to the least likeable character throughout Breaking Bad, Todd Alquist absolutely takes the top spot. He is a very creepy character who comes across fairly unhinged. It's very hard to work out what Todd is thinking about during the show, which is something that makes him unlikeable.

He can come across as very kind and nice at points, and then do something totally uncharacteristic which makes him very hard to actually like as a person, making him very awkward. He happily murders a child without any second thought, and that cold personality makes him the worst of the bunch.

Marie Schrader

Marie Schrader is a very caring character who has a deep love for her nephew and niece, but she is the least likeable of the main characters on this show. Her shoplifting habits are something that instantly makes her seem unlikeable because she judges everyone else so heavily while not being perfect herself.

Her standards are far too high considering how she acts in reality, and that is why she can come across fairly unlikeable at different moments within the series.

Skyler White

Skyler is someone who really did split audiences, with some finding her easy to connect with and others simply hating her. She has a lot of nice qualities, as everything that she does is all about her children, trying to make things as safe as possible.

However, the fact she is a clear obstacle against Walt at many points makes her less likeable, despite the fact she's technically on the right side of the moral argument. Her treatment of Walt is very on/off, sometimes being on board with his criminal activity and other times hating it, which is one of the reasons she's not as likeable.

Walt Jr.

Walter Jr is a very likeable character, he just doesn't get quite as much time to develop his personality as some of the others. However, his loyalty towards his family is unmatched, and he is certainly one of the most caring people within the series.

He's happy enough to tell people what he thinks as well, which makes him really fun as a character. He has great growth in confidence as well which really does add to his character, which certainly makes him fun.

Gus Fring

Gust Fring might technically be the ultimate villain in Breaking Bad, but he is certainly one of the most interesting characters to have ever been created for television. He's never over the top with his anger, and instead, he's incredibly smart and calm with his talking.

He knows how to play the game and is an incredible businessman. It makes him a really compelling character and the fact he is incredibly dangerous without being over the top is what makes him so enjoyable to watch.

Mike Ehrmantraut

Mike Ehrmantraut is someone who takes absolutely no prisoners throughout the series, and that is something that makes him very likeable. He simply takes no nonsense from anybody, refusing to deal with anything trash-talking, mainly because he is so confident in his abilities to deal with any situation.

Mike is incredibly loyal and can always be depended on in a moment of emergency. Whether it's taking out another man or just fixing problems, he is always capable of getting the task done. His dry wit also brings some great comedy to the series as well, plus his love for his granddaughter is hard not to find likeable.

Walter White

Walter White is the lead character in Breaking Bad, but he is certainly someone who works as a villain in reality. Despite the fact what he does for a job is technically a major crime, the fact he is doing it to raise money for his family for after he dies is commendable.

When he is Walt, he tends to be incredibly smart, thoughtful and caring which are traits that are certainly very likeable. But then when he taps into his alter-ego of Heisenberg, he takes no prisoners and is as ruthless as they come, and that combination makes for a really compelling character.

Hank Schrader

Dean Norris as Hank Schrader in Better Call Saul

Hank Schrader is, without doubt, the funniest character on the series, and that makes him instantly likeable. He's someone who constantly tries to be funny with classic Dad jokes that aren't funny, but somehow that makes him even funnier.

He's very kind and loyal to his family and his work, putting his body on the line at several points. His determination to catch Heisenberg is to be respected, and while he does go through a period of feeling sorry for himself, that only goes to show another side of his character, which made him more likeable overall.

Saul Goodman

Saul Goodman is a crooked attorney who is more than happy to bend the rules and do whatever it takes for his clients. However, that loyalty to those who he works for is something that really makes him likeable, as he is always willing to go the extra mile.

Saul brings a lot of humor to the series at points as well with his attitude to say whatever he wants without much thinking. Saul is a tremendous character and he adds plenty to the show throughout, which makes his inclusion really important.

Jesse Pinkman

Jesse Pinkman's "Yes Science" moment in Breaking Bad

While Jesse Pinkman is technically a villain and someone who would typically be hated on most shows, in Breaking Bad he is the most likeable character. While he cooks meth, kills people, and generally just causes problems for people, he is showcased in a really positive way.

Jesse is one of the funniest characters on the series, always busting out great jokes and his energy and excitement is a great change of pace at points in the series. He is also a very sensitive and emotional character who has tons of baggage, which is why audiences end up having tons of sympathy for him, which adds to why he's so likeable.
