Where the Great Hall and Library Annex meet in Hogwarts Legacy, players can find a grate on a connecting bridge that hosts a puzzle they may solve for a big reward after learning the Incendio and Confringo spells during the main story. On the way from the Annex across this space, players might notice a golden circular dais with Roman numerals corresponding to various symbols. By using fiery magics to alight areas along this structure, players are able to discover two chests in the revealed viaduct that unlocks upon the completion of the puzzle.
There are four braziers at different points along the bridge, each with a symbol directly below them that match the iconography seen on the previously mentioned dais. Directly beneath a brazier's cauldron is an adjustable gear that cycles through Roman numerals I-IV.
Solving the Bridge Puzzle in Hogwarts Legacy
The solution to the bridge puzzle revolves around aligning the braziers' Roman numeral gears to the matching symbol seen on the dais. Thankfully, there are no restrictions to what order players need to make this arrangement, as long as the symbols under the braziers are equal to their matching numeral counterparts.
As seen by the story of Hogwarts Legacy that has them learn the desired arcana from Professor Hecat.
Doing this sees a hidden seal on the dais unlock, revealing a ladder that leads into the viaduct below. This view of the puzzle being solved is immediately shown to the player, and does not require any further exploration through Hogwarts Legacy or any other method beyond the area now available.
Two chests reside in the viaduct unlocked, with the first being to the right as players descend the stairs to the new area. This chest has a random collectible, but the primary reward for this puzzle lies in the larger chest on the other end of the viaduct. Opening this container after solving the Bridge puzzle in Hogwarts Legacy gives players a random piece of Legendary gear, which may be identified later using the Desk of Description in the Room of Requirement.
