Christmas (8.2)
Kicking things off is the inaugural "Christmas" episode of the series. In this one, Jake and Holt end up with death threats. To keep safe (and due to security protocol) Jake is chosen to keep a close eye on Holt. This has the detective handcuffing Holt to himself and remaining in a safe house to do the best job possible.
Meanwhile, Terry tries to figure out if he is ready to go back into the field by visiting a therapist. Even later, Boyle ends up at Jake's safe house, only to also get stuck in handcuffs. Eventually, however, the three-figure out the source of the death threats and plan to go after the killer at a train station.
Pontiac Bandit (8.2)
We're next shifting out focus to this early episode centered on the famous "Pontiac Bandit." Boyle returns to the precinct on a scooter, after having been shot while trying to save Rosa. The crew finds it difficult to accommodate him.
Meanwhile, Jake tries to track down a bandit with help from identity thief Doug Judy. Lastly, Holt attempts to give a set of puppies a new place to live.
Operation: Broken Feather (8.2)
A few episodes later, Jake and Amy team up to find a thief who has been stealing furniture from hotels. However, after Amy reveals she's thinking of transferring to Major Crimes, Jake gets less excited about the case.
Meanwhile, Terry and Holt try to boost productivity at work. However, when it all ends with Boyle setting himself on fire, they start to reconsider their early plans.
Unsolvable (8.2)
Jake tries to solve an 8-year-old case that's been deemed "Unsolvable in this episode. Coming out a streak of successes, Jake is confident he will come out on top and recruits Terry for the mission.
Simultaneously, Amy tries to plan a vacation for her and her boyfriend Teddy but runs into trouble with Captain Holt. Finally, Gina and Rosa reveal their secret bathroom to Boyle, but Scully and Hitchcock make it their mission to figure out what he's hiding.
Thanksgiving (8.3)
Though Brooklyn Nine-Nine has featured more than one "Thanksgiving" episode, none is quite as iconic at the first. On this Turkey Day, Amy celebrates Thanksgiving at her house with the rest of the precinct in an attempt to win Holt as her mentor.
However, her plans go down the drain after Holt and a Thanksgiving-hating Jake leaves to investigate a stolen money case. It also doesn't help that no one likes the food. Yes, it's incredibly possible that they ultimately go back to work to continue the celebrations.
Halloween (8.5)
Before "Thanksgiving" comes "Halloween," and boy, the Brooklyn Nine-Nine gang sure knows how to celebrate. Though Jake believes that he would uncatchable if he were a criminal, Holt has different ideas. Therefore, Holt challenges him to steal his Medal of Valor by midnight.
If he does, he will be deemed the greatest detective and get help with paperwork. If not, Jake will be forced to work five weekends with no pay. Santiago and Boyle embark on a costume-filled drug bust of their own, while Terry tries to figure out why Rosa dropped out of Catholic school.
Tactical Village (8.5)
This episode has the gang heading to a "Tactical Village" where they will test new equipment through a paintball simulation. Jake hopes to get a world record on the course, while Boyle hands out save-the-dates for his forthcoming wedding to everyone but Rosa.
Though she says she's fine with it, she decides to silently take out her frustration on him. To add to the complications, one of Amy's ex-boyfriends shows up, causing Jake to worry about things much more important to him than finishing the fastest.
The Party (8.6)
The gang attends "The Party" at Holt's house in this Season 1 episode. While there, Jake tries to get on the good side of Holt's husband, Amy attempts to bond with Holt himself.
And Gina is questioned by a group of psychiatrists because of her talking. Meanwhile, Boyle gets tangled up in a whirlwind romance with a food author.
The Bet (8.8)
Though Boyle is getting honored with a Medal of Valor in "The Bet," all the attention gets directed toward a horse who also receives the medal and poops on stage.
Later, Jake and Amy's long-running competition to catch the most criminals comes to the end. Though it looks like the bet will finish in a tie, a group of last-minute arrests on Jake's part allows him to take Amy on the "worst date ever." However, they soon pose as an actual couple in order to catch a criminal.
Charges And Specs (8.9)
Topping off the list is the final episode of Season 1, "Charges and Specs." The story opens with Jake buying drinks for everyone at a bar, having just been suspended for investigating a case he was supposed to drop months ago.
Believing there's still weight to his investigation, Jake brings Amy and Captain Holt along to uncover more details. Meanwhile, the gang tries to cheer up Boyle after learning that Vivian broke up with him and called off the wedding.
