Demi Moore has a small update about the Die Hard (1988) movies. From there, he began appearing in a variety of hit films, including Pulp Fiction (1994), The Sixth Sense (1999), and Glass (2019). Tragically, he was forced to retire in 2022 after being diagnosed with aphasia and dementia.
In an interview with CNN, Willis' ex-wife, Demi Moore, spoke about his health since his diagnosis and retirement. While she shared that he is stable, she described it as a "great loss" that also possesses "great beauty". She continues to Willis and offered genuine positivity in her statement. Check out her full quote below:
Given the givens, he’s in a very stable place at the moment. And I’ve shared this before, but I really mean this so sincerely. It’s so important for anybody who’s dealing with this to really meet them where they’re at, and from that place, there is such loving and joy. [Watching someone you love struggle with the condition is] very difficult and not what I would wish upon anyone. There is great loss, but there is also great beauty and gifts that can come from it.
What Demi Moore's Comments Mean For Bruce Willis
The Actor Has Remained Relatively Stable
The connection between Moore and Willis is strong as the couple were married from 1987 to 2000. Willis eventually remarried, but Moore continued to maintain their friendship even after their separation. She has ed his second wife, Emma Heming Willis, since Willis' diagnosis and even serves as a caretaker. Her positivity has undoubtedly been an essential help for the rest of Willis' system, as positivity remains critical in any caretaking role.
Willis' final movie was Assassin (2023).
While it is painful to see Willis in such a vulnerable position, achieving some measure of stability is an excellent sign. Willis is 69 years old, so he could have many years ahead of him with his condition. Unfortunately, aphasia makes communication difficult, as the condition involves diminished language comprehension. That could be a challenge for his family. The fact that they remain at his side to him is likely a relief for the actor, even if he remains generally confused. Moore's positivity undoubtedly makes it easier to push through communication barriers to help the former star.
Our Take On Bruce Willis' Current Condition
Anyone Can Willis
The fact that Bruce Willis is no longer appearing in Hollywood is likely some help for the actor. Rather than being taken to sets and made to echo lines from an earpiece, the star can spend his days with family and friends. His family remains advocates for him, as they have called on the public to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, which is working to spread awareness and to promote research. The best thing that the public can do for Willis is to help AFD in any way it can.
