Of all the the rogue Slayer Faith Lehane changed Buffy forever.
When Faith arrived in the third season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, she shook up the show in a way that no other character had. Buffy and Faith are almost polar opposites, with the impulsive the latter taking great joy and satisfaction in her mission, which worried the former. Faith became one of the most complex characters in the show, going from an antihero to a villain, and finally having a redemption in Angel. While it has been confirmed that the Buffy the Vampire Slayer revival will feature a new slayer, she won't be the only one besides Buffy.
Faith Needs To Be In The Buffy Revival
Faith Was The Most Powerful Slayer After Buffy, But Also The Loneliest
Faith had a much darker upbringing than Buffy, and struggled with her jealousy of Buffy and the Scooby gang, while keeping people at arms' length. Her wild and unpredictable nature made Faith one of the more compelling characters in the show, and her life did not seem destined to be boring. With the Buffy revival being set so long after the original show's finale, it would be exciting to see what happened to Faith. It is unlikely that she and Buffy will be best friends, so this would add some conflict, even if Faith is a good character.
Faith is physically strong and adept at fighting, outlasting many of the other Slayers.
Faith is physically strong and adept at fighting, outlasting many of the other Slayers, like Kendra. Still, while Faith was the most powerful Slayer after Buffy, one of her weaknesses was her lack of a network. The Scooby Gang often prevented Buffy from serious harm, and helped her recover after life-changing tragedies, while Faith spent most of her time on the show alone. That said, her friendship with Angel and her hard-won self-awareness made Faith even stronger by the time she returned for the Buffy finale, where she fought alongside Buffy once more, but from a more mature position.
What Happened To Faith At (And After) The Ending Of Buffy?
Faith Continues To Be A Major Character In The Buffy The Vampire Slayer Comics
After spending time in prison and ing the cast of Angel, Faith returned to Buffy in season 7 to help Buffy and the potential Slayers to fight the Big Bad. She and Buffy found common ground, sharing a sense of camaraderie, and the finale is still one of the most iconic Buffy the Vampire Slayer episodes. Faith took on the role of responsibility, training the potential Slayers, though Buffy still had to save the day. Both survived the battle, and Faith's story continued in the Dark Horse Buffy comics, which picked up where the show ended.
Faith was set to have her own spin-off series after Buffy ended, but Eliza Dushku declined.
The Buffy the Vampire Slayer comics give fans some great moments, especially involving Faith, who has appeared in 79 canonical issues, and undergone some significant development. She lost her ion for being a Slayer, but occasionally returned to help other characters like Robin and Giles. Still, while she had the chance to retire for good, Faith used her own background experience to help other rogue Slayers who were straying from the path. After living in London, Faith ended up in San Francisco with the rest of the Scooby Gang, and working with Buffy in a supernatural police force.
Buffy's Story Is Better With Faith In It
Faith Could Play A Major Role In The Buffy Revival
By the finale, Faith had become a fan-favorite character, and one of the many Buffy characters who deserved their own spin-off. While the Buffyverse is full of exciting characters, Faith had a special position in the story, acting as the foil to Buffy. Faith often appeared to be a mirror to Buffy, showing her what she could become without her network. Faith complicated Buffy's more simplistic worldview, and her darker nature forced Buffy to confront her own challenges. This tension made Buffy's story better, as Faith became an essential part of Buffy's personal journey.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer's Reboot Needs To Return The Show To Its Roots After One Problem With Later Seasons
The Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot's new slayer means the series can hopefully avoid an issue that plagued Sarah Michelle Gellar's original show.
So far, there have been few details released about the Buffy revival story, but it is possible that the new series could use some major plot points from the comics. This would mean that Faith could return in some capacity. The Buffyverse lore saw all potential Slayers coming into their powers at once, and if this is canon for the new series, Faith could have a role in training them. However, the reboot could also have the two Slayers working for the supernatural police, and this would likely lead to more bonding moments and conflicts for Faith and Buffy.
