Bullet Train is set to release in early August 2022, and the sheer number of stars in the trailers is enough to get viewers excited. The extended trailer of the film was just released and gives even more color to the myriad of characters on board the train.
The movie promises to be an action-packed adventure, featuring five assassins who find themselves on the same bullet train from Tokyo to Morioka, Japan. Upon seeing the fast-paced and comedic ments for the project, people may be wondering why so many of the actors look familiar, and what they might have seen them in before.
Brad Pitt: Ocean's Eleven (2001), Inglourious Basterds (2009), Fight Club (1999)
Most regular movie-goers are familiar with Brad Pitt. He's been in countless films and has been in the public eye for many years. His high-action, heist-like role in Bullet Train, however, appears to mimic some of Pitt's most notable roles.
Fight Club are just a few of the films that feature Pitt as characters who are both charming and deadly, with a fair amount of comedic one-liners. Ladybug, Pitt's role in Bullet Train, is an unlucky assassin who wants to be out of the game. Even though he doesn't want to be there, he's seen cracking jokes mid-fight sequence and showing off his trademark smirk that's been featured in these other films.
Sandra Bullock: Miss Congeniality (2000), Ocean's Eight (2018)
Like Pitt, Sandra Bullock has an illustrious film career with films fans have been watching on repeat, including her most recent role in The Lost City. Like Pitt, Bullock has experience with heist-themed films, and she was even a part of the Ocean's film series, like he was.
Additionally, she has fighting and comedy experience from her role as a cop-turned-beauty-pageant-contestant in Miss Congeniality. Although Bullock has a lot of comedy roles under her belt, she also plays a great straight man, as she showed in Ocean's Eight. Maria Beetle, her new role, highlights that same talent of Bullock's and seems to play well off of Pitt's charisma.
Joey King: The Kissing Booth (2018)
Joey King is making her debut into the world of more violent and action-filled films. Previously, King was most known for her performance as Elle Evans in the Netflix original romantic comedy, The Kissing Booth, about a young girl falling in love with her best friend's brother.
The film launched King's and costar Jacob Elordi's careers and was a top Valentine's Day must-see for rom-com lovers. It was a far cry from King's role in Bullet Train, which seems a lot more serious and reserved. King's role in this film, Prince, is vastly different than anything she's done in the past and will show fans a new, fiercer side to her acting. She can be seen fighting alongside the other assassins and being just as threatening in the trailer.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson: Kick-Ass (2010)
One of Aaron Taylor-Johnson's breakout roles was in the action-comedy Kick-Ass, which featured a brand-new and sometimes not-so-pretty look at what being a vigilante could really look like.
Johnson plays the titular role, a normal teen who starts living life as a crime fighter despite having no superpowers or fighting expertise. His character, Tangerine, seems to be a bit more of an experienced fighter in Bullet Train, going toe-to-toe with Pitt in one of the trailer sequences. He is a no-nonsense killer and dead-set on his target, Ladybug.
Logan Lerman: The Perks Of Being A Wallflower (2012)
A decade ago, Logan Lerman starred as Charlie in the hit movie The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, which was based on a best-selling novel of the same name. It featured Charlie's struggle to come out of his shell and make friends after experiencing severe anxiety and trauma.
The film is a much-loved teen movie of Redditors and fans all around and is very different thematically from the high-action world of Bullet Train. Lerman's character, who doesn't have a credited name just yet, looks markedly different than he has in other projects, with long hair and even a face tattoo -- giving him a much tougher and grittier feel than his previous performances.
Karen Fukuhara: Suicide Squad (2016)
they'd even like to see a spin-off featuring the stoic hero.
With projects like Suicide Squad and The Boys under her belt, Fukuhara is more than equipped for any stunts or violence that Bullet Train may offer for her role. She works on the train in the film and like in The Boys, Fukuhara is an unexpected combat expert who launches into action and holds her own against a crew of assassins.
Bad Bunny: F9 (2021)
Bad Bunny is mostly known for his music career, but he's recently been making a few appearances on the silver screen. Most notably, he starred alongside names like Vin Diesel and John Cena in F9, the most recent Fast And Furious sequel.
Bad Bunny didn't have an especially large role in the film, being credited with performing as a "lookout" on IMDb. Still, his experience working with huge stars continues into yet another multi-big-star action film. His character's name is Wolf and he's featured heavily in both versions of the trailer, fighting mainly with Pitt and having some sort of previous vendetta against him. His roles continue to grow in both complexity and blockbuster value.
Andrew Koji: Snake Eyes (2021)
Coincidentally, Andrew Koji also had one of his first roles in a Fast And Furious sequel, starring as an uncredited cop in which released its sixth season on Netflix on June 10th.
Koji undoubtedly got ample combat experience performing as the G.I. Joe character, Snake Eyes. With his drama and action expertise, he's set to be one to watch in Bullet Train. He is one of the main five assassins who find themselves on the train, Yuichi Kimura, and one of the strong Asian core cast representing the film's source material.
Zazie Beetz: Deadpool 2 (2018)
Another natural action and fight sequence actor set to be in Bullet Train is Zazie Beetz, who viewers may recognize as Domino from the Deadpool 2 team Wade put together in the sequel.
The sequel is one of the best non-MCU Marvel movies, and fans couldn't get enough of Domino's luck-induced combat montages. She's credited as "The Hornet" in Bullet Train, and it's seen in the preview that she is an assassin who is undercover as one of the train crew . This stealth expertise is a lot like Domino's role in Deadpool's heist-like plans, and fans are sure to see some of that shining through in this role.
Brian Tyree Henry: Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse (2018)
Fans may or may not recognize Brian Tyree Henry's face, but Marvel fans will definitely recognize his voice. Henry voiced the police officer father of main character Miles Morales in the animated superhero film, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse.
On IMDb, it says that Henry will be playing the role of Lemon in Bullet Train, and he's described as one of the assassins who find themselves on the train. This is much different than the straight-laced, law-abiding cop that he voiced in Into The Spider-Verse, and it will be a great opportunity for him to show off his character range.
