Rockstar Games has reignited rumors regarding a much-requested Bully 2 was canceled, though.

Back in October 2019, numerous reports surfaced claiming that the anticipated sequel to Bully had been in development for over a year. Unfortunately, industry insiders also reported that Bully 2 failed to gather enough momentum at developer Bully 2's cancellation is GTA 6-related.) Now, a new round of rumors once again suggest Bully's revival.

According to Redditor Aleksis94 (as first spotted by MP1st), Rockstar updated Bully’s trademark three times on April 30. The trademark page can be accessed at the official USPTO website, which reflects that Rockstar executed a series of operations with the Bully IP on the day in question. While it's not clear what the developer may be up to, it at least seems clear that the trademark is being maintained and possible that the studio could be ramping up for an eventual announcement.

Also on April 30, Grand Theft Auto VI may be entering a later stage of development necessitating a new wave of QA testers, but neither Rockstar rumor has been acknowledged or confirmed. The initial community response was mostly focused on the hypothetical GTA 6 announcement, so Bully’s trademark developments went largely unnoticed by all but the most eagle-eyed of Rockstar fans.

Having released in between major entries of Rockstar’s core video game franchises, Bully managed to gain a long-lasting cult following thanks to its unique world and engaging story. Despite belonging to the studio’s signature genre of open-world titles, the school adventure drastically differed from the GTA series because of its distinct style and gameplay. The game was praised by fans for numerous reasons, and it’s quite understandable that players are craving for a sequel. Considering Rockstar’s recent activity, Bully 2 (if not a remake/remaster of the first game) may still not be out of the question for this console generation.
