Summary

  • Black Ops 6 Zombies brings back familiar faces from Cold War to continue their story against interdimensional threats.
  • New character Maya Aguinaldo takes center stage in Black Ops 6, investigating her missing brother with the help of former antagonist Dr. Peck.
  • Black Ops 6 will launch with two Zombies maps available.

Zombies mode, which features quite a few returning characters, and a few new ones. The first time zombies popped up in the Call of Duty franchise was in World at War back in 2008. Originally, it was just a single secret level that players could unlock after finishing the campaign, later expanded to four maps total, and it was relatively simple compared to what Zombies has become in the franchise. Players were largely confined to a single location and simply fought off waves of enemies as long as they could.

Since then, Call of Duty Zombies has had several large story arcs that have taken place across several games. The most recent stories have focused on The Office of Requiem, a group that is responsible for stopping interdimensional threats. The group was last seen in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and will be returning in Black Ops 6 to continue their story. Many of the major characters from Cold War are coming back, and they will be ed by a few new faces as well.

Of Requiem Have Returned In Black Ops 6

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies’ story picks up five years after the last time players saw the former Requiem , who are now known as the Terminus Team. The team consists of Grigori Weaver, Mackenzie “Mac” Carver, Dr. Elizabeth Grey, Dr. Oskar Strauss, and Stoney Maddox aka Raptor One. These characters have spent the time from their last appearance locked away in the Terminus outpost in the Philippine Sea. This means that players won’t have missed any important adventures in that time, but Call of Duty’s website does specify that this extended imprisonment has changed the characters.

Grigori Weaver leads the team. He, Dr. Grey, and Mac Carver are all described as having hardened significantly over the course of their imprisonment. They seek revenge against their former director, Edward Richtofen, and have lost their faith in the institutions they used to serve. Strauss, meanwhile, seems to have lost his grip a bit, and is in a fragile state at the start of the new game.

In the trailer for Black Ops 6 Zombies, the team is broken out of prison by former antagonist Dr. William Peck. Peck seemingly blew up at the end of the previous Zombies mission in this storyline, so it will be interesting to see if the new game explains how he survived. Peck also seems responsible for recruiting one of the game’s new characters.

Black Ops 6 Zombies Introduces New Characters

Maya Aguinaldo & Her Missing Brother Seem To Have A Big Role In The Story

Maya Aguinaldo from Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Zombies

The major new character in Black Ops 6 Zombies is Maya Aguinaldo. Maya is a smuggler who is investigating the disappearance of her brother, and she is seemingly working with Peck to do so. The trailer also makes it seem as though Maya’s brother may be a new character, as finding him is one of the missions the team is going to have.

Because the trailer and Call of Duty’s site are skimpy with details on Maya and her brother, it would seem as though Treyarch is keeping their story intentionally vague for now. It is very possible that unraveling the mystery of Maya’s brother’s disappearance is integral to the game’s larger plot, so Treyarch doesn’t want to spoil anything. From her brutal dispatch of a guard in the trailer, it is at least clear that Maya is not messing around, nor is she afraid to get her hands dirty.

The main characters during an alert in Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Zombies

From what has been revealed so far, it seems that Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Zombies will focus primarily on the breakout of the main characters during another zombie outbreak. Finding Maya’s brother will likely be part of the story as well. Players can probably expect some twists and turns, especially given Peck’s past. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him betray the other characters at some point.

Call of Duty has also teased another Zombies map that takes place in the town of Liberty Falls, West Virginia. No official story details have been given about that map yet, and it is unclear if it will feature more new characters or simply have players taking the role of Call of Duty’s many Operators from different modes. Players who enjoyed the previous chapter of the Dark Aether storyline will likely want to check out Call of Duty Black Ops 6 to see where the characters go next.
