The Call of Duty: Warzone Season 3 update has brought back the original Verdansk map, and one of the battle royale's best-ever weapons, back to the game. Warzone's integration with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 failed to improve the game's popularity, and didn't produce an interesting meta game despite dozens of new weapons being introduced, so here we are.

Now, thanks to the Return to Verdansk event and the new Season 3 battle, Warzone has received some exceptionally strong new weapons, and sees some of the game's most iconic weapons from the past returning. One of those is the CR-56 AMAX, which is already establishing itself as the best all-around weapon in Warzone and Verdansk.

Best CR-56 AMAX Loadout In Warzone

The AMAX Is Warzone's New Number-One Weapon

The CR-56 AMAX Assault Rifle with attachments in Call of Duty: Warzone

The CR-56 Amax is going to be a very popular weapon in Warzone, as it has a high potential time-to-kill of just 665 milliseconds, which can be reached up to 51.7 meters. The AMAX's damage drops off quickly at longer ranges, so you'll want to increase that damage range with your barrel attachment. The AMAX also has more recoil than some of the other returning Warzone weapons, and the best attachments will look to help reduce it.

Optic

Willis 3X

I've gone with the Willix 3X optic here as a similar scope was often used with the original Amax, and I find it helps with the higher recoil slightly. You can use your favorite optic, if you prefer.

Muzzle

Compensator

The monolithic suppressor unlocked in the Season 3 Battle is also a good option, but the AMAX doesn't need help with its range, and the compensator does a better job reducing the vertical recoil.

Barrel

Gain-Twist Barrel

The Gain-Twist barrel is going to be used on most of the Assault Rifles, as increasing the bullet velocity is an easy way to help you land more shots on your target at longer ranges.

Underbarrel

Vertical Foregrip

Like the compensator for the vertical recoil, we want our underbarrel attachment to reduce as much of the AMAX's horizontal recoil, which the Vertical foregrip does best.

Magazine

Extended Mag II

The extended mag II increases the AMAX's maximum mag size to 60, which is the highest it will go.

With these attachments, the AMAX becomes the best all-around assault rifle in Warzone, with a fast time to kill at an impressive range and manageable recoil. The original AMAX only had a maximum magazine size of 45 rounds, so now with a 60-round magazine it's even more powerful than before. You will do very well in long and medium-range fights with this gun, but you'll still want a powerful SMG as a backup plan for those close-range gunfights.

Pair The AMAX With A Powerful SMG And The Best Perks

Thanks to the AMAX's power and versatility, you hopefully won't be fighting full squads in close-range gunfights. When you do have to get up-close to finish off a squad, the KSV is still one of the fastest-killing guns in Warzone, and is a very handy weapon to have in a pinch. You can also move exceptionally fast with it, as you don't have to equip attachments that slow your character down.

Most of the SMGs in Warzone use the same attachments, focusing on reducing recoil, slightly improving the range, and improving aim-down-sight times so you miss fewer shots. This KSV loadout does the same, and opts for the Extended Mag I as you don't need more than 40 bullets to take down one or two opponents.

KSV Loadout:

  • Muzzle: Compensator
  • Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
  • Magazine: Extended Mag I
  • Rear Grip: Ergonomic Grip

The combination of the AMAX and KSV gives you a lot of room to be aggressive in Verdansk, so the rest of your loadout should try and reinforce that playstyle. Smoke grenades are a crucial tool when pushing up on enemy positions, as they make enemies shooting you from unknown locations less problematic, and the semtex is a good aggressive lethal option thanks to its short fuse time.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 & Warzone - How To Request SBMM Rating

Call of Duty's matchmaking is dictated by a player's SBMM rating, but this info isn't readily available. Players who want it must follow these steps.

Survivor and Tracker are the two go-to perks for Warzone at the moment. Survivor keeps you in the fight longer, improving the rate your healing regeneration starts, and the Tracker perk is handy for not losing track of your opponents and helps your teammates finish them off.

I've picked the tempered perk here as I don't like spending time re-applying armor plates when I'm in a heated gunfight, so cutting the number of armor plates you need to just two is a really powerful effect to have in Warzone if you want to keep applying the pressure to the rest of the lobby.
