The piano now counts among the growing number of unconventional tools that players are using as controllers, given that one Fortnite battle while using a guitar as a controller.
Dance pads have proven themselves as functional controllers outside of their intended purpose, too. This much became evident back in December when another Twitch streamer, PeekingBoo, beat Supergiant Games' roguelike Fortnite and Hades are not the only ones experimenting with new ways of defeating the odds in-game.
Redditor grooviehoovie, spotted by Eurogamer, recently shared a clip of themselves quick scoping through a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer match. It's not your everyday highlight reel, however. As opposed to a traditional controller, grooviehoovie spent a considerable amount of time training to use a piano in place of a game pad. The results are a sight to behold, as well as a pleasure to hear. See it all play out in the video linked below:
On previous posts of this nature, others accused the Reddit of relying on aimbot for assistance. Grooviehoovie divulged that wasn't the case, though: "It looks like aimbot because I'm using button presses to aim and my program doesn't have an option for smoother mouse movement." To practice for the Modern Warfare gameplay, the Redditor utilized the aim trainer Kovaaks 2.0 and regularly set aside time for a month to establish an effective piano routine.
It's no pomegranate controller, but this piano routine in Modern Warfare is no less impressive. That it took a month of learning to get things just right serves as yet another cause for applause. Cleary, this wasn't an easy feat by any means.
As the 2019 Call of Duty entry, Modern Warfare has taken a bit of a backseat in recent months. A good portion of the community remains invested, however, though it seems Activision and Infinity Ward are slowing down for the title as the months press on.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
