Call of Duty will always hold a special place in gamers' hearts. It defined the Black Ops Cold War, the series continues to smash records and draw players from all around the world.

Of course, such an amazing title is not complete without achievements and trophies. Most trophies could be acquired in just one playthrough, but there are some that are nearly impossible and take quite a bit of grinding to earn. From World At War's infamous veteran difficulty to Modern Warfare's ridiculous training mode, here are some of the most nail-biting and rage-inducing trophies only the luckiest gamers can conquer.

Gun Nut - Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Trophy description: All weapons scanned.

Infinite Warfare has its fair share of glitches, and COD veterans were disappointed to find out that it takes an eternity to reach the platinum trophy because of a certain game-breaking mechanic.

The game has a total of 22 weapons, all of which should be scanned by the player. 21 are easy to get, while the Banshee's spawn chance is so rare that it's essentially like winning the lottery. This means endless restarts for hours just to get that certain gun. Fortunately, the reload animations aren't too clunky like Black Ops Cold War.

All this suffering for a bad shotgun.

One Of The Lucky Few - Call Of Duty: WWII

Trophy description: Breach the seawall in under 2 minutes without taking MG fire.

Storming the beaches of Normandy isn't a piece of cake, both in-game and real life. The random mortar shells make it hard for players to find cover, and there are MG42s everywhere. The time pressure is another problem.

The only way to beat this would be to stick to the NPC (Pierson) as close as possible and use him as a meatshield to get from cover to cover while anticipating the MG reloads.

They Look Like Ants - Call Of Duty: Ghosts

Trophy description: Destroy all enemy targets and kill no allies with the rods.

Ghosts wasn't known for having a coherent, well-crafted campaign, and some of the achievements associated with it make even more of a slog to get through. There is also a bug where enemies don't die even after a direct hit. What's more, the rods explode like nukes, too.

Timing is of the essence here, as well as placement of the rods. Players must eliminate the targets during the first few seconds before the allies advance closer to the enemy or they might get within the blast radius. Oh, and it's just a bronze trophy.

The Sum Of All Zeros - Call Of Duty: World At War

Trophy description: Down 45 Japanese Zeros in "Black Cats".

World At War's storytelling is unmatched, couple that with the fan-favorited zombies mode, and you've got a hallmark title in the long-running series.

Black Cats is one of the easiest levels even on Veteran difficulty according to the WAW community, yet its trophy is the hardest obstacle before obtaining platinum. There is no room for error; players also have limited time, and switching between the plane's guns lessens the chances to down the planes. Mapping out the enemy spawns are proven to work, but keeping track of them is another matter. Miss the target, and it's back to restart.

Immortal - Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Trophy description: Complete every mission without dying or reloading to a checkpoint at any difficulty.

Hunting this trophy in Recruit difficulty is still a challenge, as players have to go through the Favela and Snowmobile levels, both of which require godlike reflexes. The rooftop escape is unpredictable, too.

A surefire way to obtain this is by keeping a checklist while going through Mission Select. The missions can also be done in any order. Friendly fire or failing objectives counts as mission failure and requires a restart.

Throw A Six And A Half - Call Of Duty: World At War

Trophy description: On Hardened or Veteran difficulty, complete a level without dying.

Call Of Duty: World At War is the hardest game in the series. Veteran difficulty is particularly difficult, as the AI has inhuman aim, and they spam grenades like crazy. On Veteran, it's all about luck. Skill doesn't matter, and it's borderline impossible to do it without some kind of exploit or mod. In the words of a wise player, "it is God's test to see who's the best."

Hardened is no walk in the park, either. Rage quitting is guaranteed, but the grenade spam is quite not as bad. To beat this achievement, one could choose the Black Cats level, which is noticeably easier than the other levels.

War Hero - Call Of Duty (Classic)

Trophy description: Complete the game on the hardest difficulty.

The installments set during World War 2 are such a pain to complete, especially on Veteran, but the great campaign makes up for it.

The classics are not so kind. There are health kits instead of health regeneration, tiny ammo drops mean players can't run and gun, and enemies lurk around the corner waiting to spam KAR fire. The very first Call of Duty requires patience. On Veteran difficulty, there are more enemies that are harder to kill and no health drops, but finishing it will net players a gold trophy.

Best Of The Best - Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered

Trophy description: Beat Infinity Ward's best time on the ship training course in F.N.G. (1.15 seconds).

"To be the best, you have to beat the best."

Accuracy is key, and the three-second bonus is important to attain this silver trophy. A little trial and error is required at the beginning. Much like any seemingly-impossible gaming task, building up muscle memory is key to making it through to the end. Memorize the layouts, practice bunnyhops, and don't forget that switching to your pistol is faster than reloading. You'll be back sooner than Price can say "It's not hard to improve on garbage."

Mile High Club - Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered/Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Call of Duty Mile High Club

Trophy description: Sky dive to safety on Veteran difficulty.

Arguably the hardest Call Of Duty trophy, this mission frustrates most of the community and requires nothing short of perfection and luck. Well, 95% luck and 5% proper flashbang placement, as enemies can kill with just 2 shots. The hostage-taker also requires a clean headshot, a leg shot will result in a restart. It's almost impossible.

No One Will Believe You - Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3

No One Will Believe You

Trophy description: Complete the campaign on Realistic difficulty (Hidden Trophy).

Black Ops 3 achievements are on another level. Realistic difficulty means that the player doesn't have a health bar, and a single hit means death. A leg shot might not kill immediately, but since the bots spam accurate fire, that would be like relying on luck alone. Playing co-op may seem like the way to go, as players will have a chance to revive one another. However, with error margins this small, additional team usually end up as liabilities.

Many players complained when they found out that this is just a silver trophy. Less than 1% of the community was able to finish this, but doing so would cement your status as a campaign expert.
