Harrison Ford reveals he didn't read Captain America: Brave New World's many villains, but he's certainly the most eye-catching.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Harrison Ford its that he accepted the offer to Captain America: Brave New World without reading the script or hearing any specific details about the MCU movie. Ford compares his decision to his casting in Apple TV's Shrinking and Paramount+'s 1923, saying "Again, no script," arguing that ing a Marvel project seemed like a fun experience: “Why not? I saw enough Marvels to see actors that I ired having a good time.” Not reading the Captain America: Brave New World script brought Ford an amusing surprise, as Ford only found out President Ross is supposed to transform into Red Hulk until later: “I didn’t really know that at the end I would turn into the Red Hulk.” “Well, it’s like life, you only get so far in the kit until the last page of the instructions is missing.”

What Harrison Ford's MCU Comments Mean

Harrison Ford Is Clearly Enjoying His MCU Experience

Harrison Ford took the Red Hulk role without reading the Captain America: Brave New World script because he saw other actors "having a good time" in the franchise, and he also performed the motion capture for Red Hulk. Clearly, Ford is having a blast playing his Captain America: Brave New World villain, and his enthusiasm will probably be reflected in his performance. Thaddeus Ross is certainly a dichotomy — a general and a president, a politician and a Gamma monster, an ally and a villain to the Avengers, and an enemy to Bruce Banner but father to his first love. Harrison Ford's ability to pull off President Ross' serious qualities and Red Hulk's larger-than-life presence will surely be a welcome addition to the MCU.

Harrison Ford's excitement about playing Red Hulk in Captain America: Brave New World makes him likely to return in a future project. Ford is an inspired recasting choice for Thaddeus Ross, and Red Hulk also has enough potential for various appearances in future MCU installments. Harrison Ford's Red Hulk could return as a villain to fight Mark Ruffalo's original Hulk, as an anti-hero who teams up with other gray-moral characters like the Thunderbolts, or as a hero who redeems himself by ing the Avengers in Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars.

Harrison Ford may have debunked a Captain America: Brave New World theory regarding Mark Ruffalo's MCU appearance as the original Hulk.

Harrison Ford's first MCU appearance as Thaddeus Ross could be the beginning of a new multi-movie character arc for the character. Red Hulk appears to be manipulated by the Leader in Captain America: Brave New World. After Captain America presumably stops the Leader, Ross could rethink his goals and take advantage of his Red Hulk abilities to change the course of his life, either to become a full-fledged supervillain or to use his new power for the greater good.
