Sometimes, Captain America can't help himself and his friendly demeanor is very humorous when he is in dangerous situations. He is unflappably friendly and even in an elevator packed with bad guys, Cap never loses his chipper friendliness towards others.
Though it was most likely meant as a joke, it is easy to believe that Cap would have let the henchmen go should they have decided to take him up on his offer. Regardless, the quip is quintessential Captain America and comes before a thrilling fight in a cramped elevator.

By Cap delivers one Avengers: Endgame's best quotes, and it is hilarious because of who he is. The Cap of earlier films would never be caught swearing, and the other character's reactions are equally humorous.
