Cartoon Network has made many successful cartoons over the years and one of them is Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. Even though the show ended in 2009, interest in this series has increased after it was announced that the original creator of the show is set to reboot the series (per Screen Rant).
This series was beloved by many children when it was on the air, it was even popular enough to receive a number of movie specials. People on IMDb were able to look through all of the works related to Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends and found which ones were the best.
"House of Bloo's" (Season 1, Episode 1) - 8.2
This is the pilot episode that kicked off the entire series. It's a special three-part episode that lasts for over an hour. It introduces the audience to Mac and Bloo and all the main ing characters of the series. After being forced by his mom to get rid of Bloo, Mac decides that Bloo should live at Foster's.
This episode does a great job of introducing the series to the audience. Before the special ended, people were made aware of who the main cast of characters are, where the show would take place, and what the following episodes would generally be about. However, the low ranking may stem from the fact that the characters aren't completely fleshed out at this point in this series.
"Nightmare on Wilson Way" (Season 5, Episode 10) - 8.2
In the show's Holloween special episode, Bloo decides to celebrate the holiday by pulling pranks on everyone living at Foster's. After Bloo pranks Mr. Herriman, he collapses to the floor and seemingly dies from a heart attack. Bloo tries to hide the body but Mr. Herriman comes back to life as a zombie and attacks Foster's.
Despite being one of the best Cartoon Network Halloween episodes, "Nightmare On Wilson Way" fails to reach the high IMDb scores attained by other Foster's Home episodes. Bloo, known for his troublesome behavior throughout the series, seems particularly callous and uncaring at the start of the episode, but the elaborate zombie prank carried out by his friends is equally and uncharacteristically harsh.
"Infernal Slumber" (Season 4, Episode 5) - 8.2
Bloo and friends visit Mac's house uninvited for a slumber party. This turns out to be a big problem because Mac's mom has no idea that he visits Foster's to stay in touch with Bloo.
Goo, Coco, and Cheese are three of the loudest characters in the show and they all showed up in the episode, which may be a little much for some viewers. The episode has comical moments, such as Mac's mom sleeping through all the noise the characters make, and it's also satisfying to see Terrence, voiced by the prolific voice actor Tara Strong, get knocked out by Eduardo and get grounded by his mom.
"Sweet Stench of Success" (Season 2, Episode 10) - 8.3
As a way to get famous, Bloo appears on a news channel and pretends to be in desperate need of a new home. This stunt catches the attention of a talent agent who manages to make Bloo a famous TV mascot and eventually got him his own TV show.
This episode does a great job of showing how life as a celebrity isn't as glamorous as many people make it out to be. It teaches viewers that friendship is worth more than what fame can get a person. The episode also features a memorable song and dance number.
"The Big Picture" (Season 4, Episode 2) - 8.3
It's picture day at Foster's and all the imaginary friends get ready to take a big group photo. As this is happening, Mac and Bloo decide to look at all the photos taken in previous years and stumble across one where there aren't any imaginary friends photographed. They try to figure out what happened that year but no one wants to tell them.
This episode is unique for Foster's Home because it has a mystery element. The episode keeps viewers engaged by giving them the chance to come up with their own theories as to what happened that year. There are moments where the characters would come up with wacky possible answers to what happened. While funny, some theories got a little repetitive and this episode may have ranked higher if there was a little more variety.
"Bus the Two of Us" (Season 4, Episode 7) - 8.4
Bloo takes the Foster's bus out on a joyride and he picks up Mac from school while he's on the road. The two of them take the bus all over town, with neither one of them knowing how to drive. Wilt tries his best to make sure no one at Foster's finds out the bus is missing while Mac and Bloo try to find Foster's and put the bus back.
The thing that makes "Bus the Two of Us" funny is how Mac is trying his best to return the bus but Bloo makes the situation worse, summing up their relationship. The episode also has a level of realism of how some children may view driving. Bloo thinks driving is an amazing thing that provides people the freedom to go anywhere while Mac sees it as dangerous.
"Destination Imagination" (Season 6, Episode 6) - 8.5
A feature-length special, "Destination Imagination" is one of the best Cartoon Network movies ever made. It opens with Frankie doing a large number of chores and feeling underappreciated. This all changes when she finds a fantasy world that she can escape into but isn't allowed to leave. Mac and his friends then decide the save Frankie and bring her back to reality.
There have been episodes in the past that focused on Frankie; showing how caring and hardworking she is. This movie goes beyond that by showing how truly selfless she is. Adults who watch this movie may even sympathize with her, which may explain why this special was highly ranked. The movie's villain is also very powerful, terrifying, and thrilling to watch.
"Frankie My Dear" (Season 2, Episode 6) - 8.6
Mac and Bloo both develop a crush on Frankie and they fight each other for the right to be with her. They then put their differences aside to try to keep Frankie away from any man who may be attracted to her. They even team up with a couple of other guys to try to crash one of Frankie's dates.
This may be one of the funniest episodes in the series. It utilizes the always funny cliché of children standing on each other's shoulders and covering themselves with a trench quote to create a fake persona. Another factor as to why this episode ranked so high could be because fans get to see another side of the beloved Frankie. She almost always wears the same clothes but in this one, she wears two very nice outfits that viewers have never seen before.
"Good Wilt Hunting" (Season 4, Episode 12) - 8.8
"Good Wilt Hunting" is another highly-rated Fosters Home movie, this time focusing Wilt. It opens with all the imaginary friends reuniting with the people who created them, back when they were children. Wilt is the only one who doesn't have his creator at the event. This makes him really sad and he decides to run away from Foster's to confront someone from his past.
Many fans may have wondered what kind of people created the imaginary friends that have been seen throughout one of the best Cartoon Network shows ever made and this movie answers that question. The movie also has many touching moments as Wilt helps a number of people in need on his journey, despite it being a bit of an inconvenience for him, and doing it without asking for anything in return.
"Mac Daddy" (Season 2, Episode 7) - 8.9
"Mac Daddy" is where the beloved Cheese makes his debut appearance. Mac wakes up one morning and finds Cheese in his bed and believes he created him in his sleep. Mac then sends him to Foster's and Bloo has to take care of him since they're brothers. Even though Cheese is annoying, Bloo accepts him as his brother - until he finds out they're not really related and changes his mind, that is.
Cheese is arguably the funniest character in the entire series and quickly became a fan favorite after his introduction, so it's no surprise his debut episode is so highly rated. Cheese comes across as hilariously dumb, making him the perfect balance to the sardonic Bloo and sensible Mac in this episode and beyond.
