CBS' Clarice Story Info

Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal - Jodie Foster and Julianne Moore as Clarice

Clarice focuses directly on the life of FBI Agent Clarice Starling and is set one year after the events of The Silence of the Lambs in 1993. Since Hannibal Lecter doesn't seem to be playing a role in the series, the shift of focus allows to focus on Agent Starling's return to the Bureau to continue her work with investigating serial killers and major crimes. With her newfound knowledge and experiences from Dr. Lecter, it's quite possible it will weigh heavily on Clarice, adding depth to her character even if the cannibalistic Dr. Lecter isn't there to torment her like he did in the movie. The setting of Washington, DC makes Clarice sound like a show similar to other police procedurals with a darker element like Criminal Minds, which was one of CBS' most watched television shows and aired its series finale in 2020. While certainly a show that will appeal to true crime and horror fans alike, Clarice seems full of promise and potential.
