Chainsaw Man is at the forefront of the new-age shōnen movement, ushering in an era of unconventional stories with unconventional characters. While some might argue that the heart of the series lies with its cast and overarching themes of surviving in a world that's brutally cold, it doesn't hurt that Chainsaw Man is also home to wildly chaotic and cathartic action. There are few crueler weapons to use in combat than a chainsaw, and the series' visceral fight scenes are only proof of that.
Tatsuki Fujimoto, the madgenius author behind Chainsaw Man, not only made his protagonist physically become a chainsaw in combat, but designed some of the most hellish creatures in anime and manga to take the brunt of Denji's erratic fighting style. In the short time since the series' release, more than a few of the author's Devils have become instantly recognizable. From terribly intimidating to oddly appealing, each new Devil or Hybrid introduced into Chainsaw Man is a reminder of Tatsuki Fujimoto's genius.
10 Aging Devil
First Appearance: Chapter #173
Part Two of Chainsaw Man has been somewhat of a quieter affair than Part One. In splitting the series' focus between two protagonists that rarely share s, some of the action has had to be sacrificed for the sake of proper character development. Part Two isn't void of any devilish activity, however, as more recent chapters have brought its cast together in large-scale combat. And sitting in the spotlight atop a throne of armless men is the Aging Devil.

Chainsaw Man Cliffhanger Sets Up Pochita's Biggest Fight to Date (And He May Lose)
Chainsaw Man's most recent chapter has set full power Pochita back in action, and his next fight is sure to be his most difficult yet.
One of Chainsaw Man's more revolting Devil designs, Aging is tall and thin, and wears what appears to be flesh that doesn't fully cover its body. Laden with holes, the Devil's deteriorating frame holds the head of an elderly person that is split in half, revealing a face with only a mouth underneath. Its frail appearance is juxtaposed by frighteningly powerful abilities that currently have Denji and Asa stuck in an alternate world. If Aging Devil is Fujimoto's depiction of an old person, it isn't a very flattering one.
9 Future Devil
First Appearance: Chapter #31
The Future Devil, though imposing, is never shown to be harmful to humans. In fact, for the majority of its time in Chainsaw Man, the Devil is whimsical. Introduced during a meeting with Aki, in which the two bargain for the of a contract, the Future Devil dances around energetically while exclaiming that, "the future rules!" Though it may have a more positive demeanor than most Devils in the series, Future's appearance doesn't quite match its attitude.
Sprouting from a singular root, the Future Devil resembles a tree, complete with hanging vines and off-shooting branches. In a large hole in the center of its chest, an eye that can peek into others' futures is perpetually staring outwards. The Future Devil is one of Tatsuki Fujimoto's more creative designs, and one that may have a bit more meaning given recent developments involving trees in Chainsaw Man Part Two.
8 Santa Claus (Darkness Devil Absorbed)
First Appearance: Chapter #66
Though not originally a Devil, Santa Claus becomes a sort of pseudo-Hybrid after eating a piece of the Darkness Devil's flesh. The next time she appears, her dolls pile themselves on top of her, and Santa emerges as a terrifying amalgamation of doll parts with legs made of heads and multiple arms. In the darkness, she becomes even more grotesque, gaining limbs and a face that Denji describes as, "even creepier".

20 Best Chainsaw Man Quotes
From "Fire-Punch" to "Goodbye, Eri", Tatsuki Fujimoto certainly has a way with words. That's especially true for his magnum opus, Chainsaw Man.
In a series filled with monstrous Devils, Santa Claus, following her Darkness transformation, is the closest that Chainsaw Man has come to featuring pure horror imagery. Everything about Santa Claus' Darkness form is unsettling, and her wide, sharp-toothed smile only makes Denji's genius fire-fighting plan all the more cathartic to watch unfold.
7 Ghost Devil
First Appearance: Chapter #25
The Ghost Devil is one that did not fight in opposition to Denji and Public Safety, but was awesomely terrifying regardless. Contracted to Himeno before her death, Ghost appears briefly to attack Katana Man, before being defeated and contracted to Akane Sawatari. However, upon appearing to fight once more, Aki re the weaknesses of the Ghost that Himeno described, and is able to swiftly defeat the hulking Devil.
The Ghost Devil is a towering presence, with numerous arms in place of legs. The rest of its body is made up of flowers, while its face is sunken in and its eyes and mouth are sewn shut. Fujimoto's talent for drawing facial expressions is on full display for the Ghost Devil, who, despite being creepy, wears a smile that is strangely warm. The Devil's eventual demise might contribute to that somewhat, as its death is a heartwarming moment for Aki.
6 Curse Devil
First Appearance: Chapter #24
The Curse Devil, contracted to Aki in the form of a needle-like sword, is one of the more traditionally terrifying in the series. Used in the fight with Katana Man, the Curse flicks Aki's sword as a disembodied finger toward the target. With each strike, lips appear that count down from three. At zero, Curse appears in full as a large skeletal Devil, digging its teeth into Katana Man.
The Curse Devil's appearance in Chainsaw Man makes use of some of Fujimoto's best ing ever, the author creatively placing the haunting figure outside the frame and onto the edges of the page. Its double skulled appearance and sheer size makes the Cuse Devil one of the more intimidating throughout the series.
5 Blood Devil
First Appearance: Chapter #90
Though Power burst onto the scene in Chainsaw Man's second chapter, she only appeared in her true form much later down the line. Much of her personality, along with her presidential aspirations, remained intact, but her appearance was far different from the Power readers fell in love with. Much more monstrous, powered-up Power gains an extra set of arms, as well as a pointed, shark-like head and the classic Fujimoto full-body intestines.
Her time in Chainsaw Man was cut short by Makima, but her impact was felt until the very last of Denji's victorious chainsaw slash. Power made her buddy promise to find her again in the next life, so hope remains that the Blood Devil will return once more in Part Two.
4 Bomb Hybrid
First Appearance: Chapter #44
Reze likely spent the least amount of time in the story among the most beloved Chainsaw Man characters, though she's a fan-favorite for more than being Denji's crush. The Bomb Hybrid's entrance into the story is second only to the Darkness Devil in of jaw-dropping presentation. Fitted with a pin on her neck that, when pulled, causes her head to explode and reappear in the form of an atom bomb, Reze has arguably the best design of the Hybrid Devils.

Will the Chainsaw Man Movie Look Different From the Anime? Don't Be Surprised If So.
The Chainsaw Man anime ended nearly two years ago, and it's possible that the series' art direction may be changing for the Reze film.
Unfortunately, the Bomb Devil arc is one of Chainsaw Man's shortest, though Reze's time in the series is memorable regardless. She is one of the very characters to have survived the events of Part One, making a return very possible in chapters. Chainsaw Man - The Movie: Reze Arc is currently in production by MAPPA, meaning fans will be treated to the Bomb Hybrid on screen very soon.
3 Gun Devil
First Appearance: Chapter #75
When Chainsaw Man was just beginning, the series framed the Gun Devil as Denji's eventual final boss. And though that title would go to someone else, the Gun Devil's design is still worthy of being the main antagonist of a story. Tatsuki Fujimoto is at his best when he throws subtext through a window and slaps his readers over the side of the head with his series' themes. And having the Gun Devil appear only after the United States makes a dangerous contract killing millions is very on brand.
Its body, consisting of a hodgepodge of different guns and human faces, topped with a skeletal head, arguably makes the Gun Devil the most intimidating of all the series' main enemies. The overall design is the most straightforward in of the concept it represents, but that works to the Devil's advantage given that it represents something as powerful and feared as a gun. It only appears for a few short chapters near Chainsaw Man's climax, but causes unfathomable amounts of damage.
2 Darkness Devil
First Appearance: Chapter #64
Besides Denji's Chainsaw Man form, the Darkness Devil is likely the most recognizable the series has produced. Its build-up being filled with absolute dread, Darkness holds the undisputed title for best entry in the series. Marked by a series of astronauts praying to the lower-halves of their bodies, the Devil takes the arms of each Public Safety hunter unfortunate enough to have found themselves in Hell.

10 Most Iconic Manga s Of All Time
Manga medium has given us some of the best and most legendary pages, and these 10 solidified themselves as some of the most iconic.
Having an oddly shaped skull with horns for a head, the lack of distinguishable facial features only adds to the Darkness Devil's creepiness. Its body consists of four different emaciated human bodies, each of which has a head with a different haunting facial expression. The Devil's mere presence on the page is enough to intimidate the reader, and its absolute silence during one of Chainsaw Man's most violent sections is unforgettable. In only a few short pages, the Darkness Devil has left its mark by appearing in one of the greatest s in manga history.
1 Chainsaw Devil
First Appearance: Chapter #83
Technically, the Chainsaw Devil appeared in the very first chapter of Chainsaw Man, as the undeniably cute little mascot of the series. However, the beast which burst onto the page during Part One's climax resembled little of his former orange self. The Hero of Hell Chainsaw Man is the coolest that a Devil can look, act, and fight in the series. Plated in what appears to be all-black armor, the Chainsaw Devil is a presence that towers over humans and other Devils.
Growing an extra pair of arms wielding chainsaws, along with the one on his head, full-power Pochita often slices up his enemies faster than the eye can see. The Chainsaw Devil's lack of expression and speech, along with his stiff posture, are intimidating and flat-out awesome every time he appears.

Chainsaw Man Theory Unpacks the Real Reason Pochita Is So Strong
Chainsaw Man's longest running mystery surrounds Pochita's immense power, and the series' latest chapter is finally hinting at the reason for it.
Chainsaw Man is a story about a lot of different things with a lot of moving parts. From one page to the next, it can be comedic, heartfelt, disgusting, and breathtaking.
