Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc is officially releasing on September 19th in Japan according to the series' at Anime Japan. Fans have been hungry for more Chainsaw Man ever since the first season ended in December of 2022, and they may not have to wait long to see the franchise's first cinematic entry.

In a post on Chainsaw Man's official X , it was confirmed that the Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc will be released on September 19th. Alongside the release date confirmation was a 30-second teaser depicting Denji's central conflict of the arc of being pulled in opposite directions by Makima and Reze. After alternating between scenes of Makima and Reze, the teaser gives fans a burst of action before cutting to the September 19th release date.

When Will Chainsaw Man's Movie Release In The States?

No Information Is Known At This Time, But There Is Always Room To Speculate

Though no international release date was given, it is unfortunately unlikely that Chainsaw Man's first movie will release in North America on the same day as its Japanese release. Looking at similarly big anime movies such as Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (also produced by Studio MAPPA) and Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, it is more likely than not that Reze Arc will be released internationally a few months after the Japanese release, meaning fans across the globe will hopefully be watching the movie in November or December at the lastest.

Chainsaw Man's Reze arc follows up on the Katana Man arc that closed out season 1 of the anime. The arc sees Denji meeting with a mysterious new girl who takes an interest in him. With new characters and an antagonist who tests Denji in a whole new way, the arc is commonly regarded as a high point of the series. With incredible animation and great source material, all signs point to the movie adaptation being another feather in MAPPA's cap.

Chainsaw Man Reze Arc Has The Potential To Be Absolutely Massive

It's A Perfect Storm For An Anime Hit

Following the breakaway success of Chainsaw Man season 1 in 2022, MAPPA confirmed it would adapt the Chainsaw Man manga's fan-favorite Reze arc as a movie. Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc's trailers have also promised more of the incredible animation and anarchic storytelling that made the anime's first season so well-received.

Chainsaw Man's anime was a massive hit, so the Reze Arc has a high potential for major success at the box office. Chainsaw Man has been a cultural phenomenon both in Japan and abroad, so there is a distinct possibility that Reze Arc might approach Mugen Train's level of record-breaking success.

Of course, even if it doesn't exactly go head-to-head with the highest-grossing anime movie of all time, there's little doubt that the Reze Arc will be a massive success for MAPPA. Hopefully, international fans won't have to wait too long after Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc's Japanese release on September 19th release date in order to watch the next anime sensation in theaters.
