Warning: Contains spoilers for Chainsaw Man chapter #172
The War Devil, Yoru, made her ultimate goal clear in the very first chapter of Chainsaw Man Part Two: make Chainsaw Man vomit up nuclear weapons and restore people's fear of war. The recent chapter #172, "Bzzz! Boom! Chomp!", ends with a close-up of an evil Yoru grin, as she realizes Chainsaw Man has begun to feast on other devils. Luckily for her, the most pivotal question surrounding Chainsaw Man's powers has likely just been answered, making her goal a real possibility.
However, this development, while working in Yoru's favor, has major ramifications for the series as a whole. Chainsaw Man's most mysterious power is his ability to erase whatever he eats from existence. In the most recent chapter, the full-power, armored version of Chainsaw Man ate the Ear Devil, and had a full serving of devil heads skewered on his umbilical scarf ready for consumption.
This resulted in everyone in the world losing their ears, a detail that holds much more significance than it seems. If Public Safety continues to allow the "Hero of Hell" to chomp down on different devils, the world could lose much more than just their ears. If Yoru succeeds, she may just doom them all.

Chainsaw Man's Strongest Form Officially Returns, & The Reason Why Is Absolutely Devastating
The latest chapter of Chainsaw Man featured the return of the Hero of Hell after Denji went through a traumatic incident.
Chainsaw Man's Biggest Power Can Be Reversed
Erased Devils Can Come Back to Existence
Chainsaw Man's devils are as powerful as the concept they represent is feared. A devil representing war would carry one of the most fearsome names throughout human history, and in turn have near-incomprehensible strength. However, early in the story, Yoru reveals that she was severely weakened in battle, when Chainsaw Man consumed a large chunk of her body and caused the world to forget many of the horrors of war.
Near the end of Part One, Makima reveals that Chainsaw Man ate Nuclear Weapons. Because she was only able to devils that were recently eaten, it can be assumed that Pochita and Yoru faced off just before he and Denji met in the opening chapter.
It has been outright stated several times that Yoru stands no chance in a one-on-one battle with "Armored Chainsaw Man". But thanks to the recent Fire Devil attacks turning civilians into pseudo-chainsaw zombies, the public has become terrified of war and chaos breaking out in the streets, powering Yoru up significantly. The disappearance of ears in the Chainsaw Man universe also just about confirms Yoru's theory that she can reverse the effects of Chainsaw Man's power.
Chainsaw Man as a story will not be able to continue if the characters are unable to communicate with one another, which means Denji will have to vomit out the Ear Devil eventually. And if this can restore the existence of ears, there's no reason it wouldn't restore the existence of nuclear weapons. This could also explain how the Eternity Devil was able to return in part 2 after being eaten in part 1. With this revelation, Yoru will be given her strongest asset and the key to defeating Chainsaw Man. However, the possibility also exists that in succeeding, she may just doom herself along with the rest of humanity.
Reversing Chainsaw Man's Erasure Can Backfire
Yoru's Weapons May Not Be All That Pochita Throws Up
While reversing Chainsaw Man's erasing ability is likely Yoru's greatest chance at victory, it can also release unimaginable horrors into the world. The extent of what exactly Pochita has eaten has never been confirmed, though Makima briefly listed a few examples during the climax of Part One, including World War II, a sixth sense that all humans once had, other alternatives to death at the end of life, and various diseases. While attempting to make Chainsaw Man throw up nuclear weapons, there's no telling what else might come out.
Besides Yoru, other factors still remain at play. The Public Safety Devil Hunters were prepared to face-off against "Armored Chainsaw Man" in chapter #172; equipped with cameras, radios, and multiple teams of devil hunters, it seemed they went into battle with a plan. If they are also trying to retrieve eaten devils, they may believe some of them to be helpful in a fight against the Death Devil, a force that has been looming over the entirety of Part Two.
And then there's Asa, one-half of Yoru and ever the wildcard, who has bestowed upon herself the responsibility of saving Denji at any cost. She could interfere with Yoru's grand plans to exterminate Chainsaw Man, or find herself in mortal danger if he does release terrifying, lost concepts back into the world. Whatever the case may be, recent revelations have flipped the series on its head, and chapters will undoubtedly push Chainsaw Man in never-before-seen directions.
